Getting to Dubrovnik
Web
Hello First, thank you for answering my question about the Palace. It was very helpful. I now need a bit of help getting from Hvar to Dubrovnik. I had planned on taking the Ferry because I had an apartment until SAturday the 19th, which is the day the Ferry runs. However now we have to leave on Friday. Is there any other boats that go to Dubrovnik, or should I plan to go back to Split and rent a car? What should I see on the road trip if I drive? Thank you! How long is the drive without stopping??

Hello there :)
If you plan to go back to Split and rent a car then you have 2 options:
1. you can take the high-way from Split to Dubrovnik which is really nice but then again it's still unfinished so in the end you would have to drive for at least 2-3 hours and see almost nothing on the way
2. you can take the "old" road (the way we call it) and the ride takes 4 hours (15 min more or less) and the ride is fabulous. It's really amaizing - I did it a couple of times and I've never regreted it. You'll get a chance to see how the Dalmatian coast looks like and I'm sure you'll like it. If you need any more advices in Dubrovnik feel free to ask anything you'd like. The citty is fabulous I'm sure you'll like it. Wish you a great time
See you around

HI,
You'd better rent a car in Hvar, drive to the other end of the island, to Sucuraj, and then take a 30 mon. ferry sail from Sucuraj to Drvenik. From Drvenik on, you have three optons
1. If awailable, take the ferry from Drvenik to Korcula, the birthplace of Marco Polo. Simply fabulous city. Then you take the short ferry sail to peninsula Peljesac, follow the vine roads to Ston. Ston is a small city with 5 km long city walls. Have a lunch at excellent "Kapetanov kuca" (Captain's house) restaurant in Mali Ston and then proceed to Dubrovnik.
2. From Drvenik drive to Ploce, take a ferry to Trpanj on peninsula Peljesac. Drive from Trpanj to Ston and have lunch in Mali Ston
3. From Drvenik, just drive along the coast to Ston, Mali Ston and onwards to Dubrovnik.
Highway? Never!
