To be honest, I don't know much about Tunis, other than there are some beautiful places to see near it, such as Sidi Bou Said, a village built on the side of a hill with spectacular views over the ocean, Carthage, which is good for shopping & has a lot of history behind it. The medina or walled city is worth seeing. I can help a lot more with your visit to Sousse than I can with Tunis. Hope this has been of some help. Enjoy your visit.

City centre is very small in the main avenue you have good cheap hotels like carlton at the end of the avenue u can see the souks of the medina , nightlife best chance is "maximum" in gammarth or "plaza corniche" in la marsa, which u can see after u visit carthage and sidi bousaid .

in Tunis, you have to walk the streets of Habib Bourguiba, and there, u would have a look on many buildings such us the Statue of Khaireddine or the greek church of Saint Georges. Once that street ends, you might notice a big gate in which you will be in the flea market and discover all the traditional things that propose the shopkeeper and why not have a break in the Café there and enjoy the narguileh (called in Tunisian CHICHA), then visit the mosque of ZEJTUNA... On the other hands, u can hop in taxi and go to the ENNASR, a place known for all its café and good Restaurant. Otherwise, the places that advised the others for you are such great ones!!
