WELL ITS POSSIBLE GOING TO MAQUIPUCUNA BUT YOU NED ONLY A CAR OR DRIVING GUIDE. WELL SECOND THING... WOULD YOU LIKE STAY WHIT YOUR DRIVER/GUIDE IN MAQUIPUCUNA OR JUST THE FIRST DAY AND BACK THE LAST DAY. I MEANS YOU NEED ONLY THE FIRST AND LAST DAY THE CAR?
WELL IF YOU WANT TO STAY WHIT YOUR DRIVER OR GUIDE YOU HAVE TO PAY THE HOTEL AND FOOD.. ITS VERY IMPORTANT KNOW THIS BECAUSE IN QUITO ONLY THE CAR (NO GUIDE) IS AROUND $120 AND WHIT DRIVING GUIDE IS $160..BUT ONLY TRANSPORT NO INCLUDING FOOD AND LOUNGE. WELL I DONT KNOW HOW MUCH IS THE COST OVER THERE, BUT I THINK MAY BE $60 MORE (NO SURE) YOU HAVE TO ASK DIRECTLY TO MAQUIPUCUNA. IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION IM VERY HAPPY TO HELP YOU .

Hi, you have to contact the Maquipucuna Foundation prior to go to the reserve, because you really need to make a reservation. They will also help you with transportation. You can contact Rebeca Justicia, director of the Foundation, calling (593-2) 2507200 / 202 / 203 / 204. Or you can e-mail Rebeca to info@maquipucuna.org. The road to Maquipucuna is usually in good conditions, but you need a 4WD vehicle. You have to head to the road from Calacalí to Nanegalito, and enter from a village called Santa Marianita. If you are planning to go just for the day, it is a long trip. I suggest you to stay al least one night at the reserve (There is a beautiful lodge with very good accommodations).
