hi i do some research for u hope it helps u...i think u can do a lot in a half day in Tunis

One hour from Hammamet, Tunis takes you by surprise with its modern conference halls, hotels and banks, bright yellow taxis rushing passengers to a business lunch, all the hustle and bustle of a modern Mediterranean city . Steel and glass blend with the baroque, palm trees look down on chic boutiques, gardens and cafés.

happy trip

You bet :) Tunis is a small city with a huge history behind it so wherever you go you will see and experience things, the city centre is only 15 minutes away from the airport , the old "medina" is just a walk away form the main street "HABIB BOURGUIBA AVENUE" , youn can wonder about the medina and its souks for an hour or so ( you can spend the day if you want but you should see other things ) , take a taxi to "SIDI BOUSAID " its only 20 minutes away , you can climb the hill and see the gulf of tunis from this magnificent site , on your way back tell the taxi to stop by the ruins of "CARTHAGE" they are only ten mintes away from sidibousaid and 20 minutes from the airport , your half day is over have fun :)

Hi, if you are interest to nature you can make a visit to national park of Chambi . it is about 1:40min from Tunis in the direction of Kasserine, what is important in this visit is the fascinating nature you can see, there is a train there which takes people in tours, there is so many animal and vegetal species, and the surprise is there is some kind of local of flower which does not exist in any place of the world but this place!!!!!!!!!
So, in one half day you can make a visit to one of the most important natural monument in the world. And if you have enough time you can visit the roman Temples of sbeitla which are not very far from there. Enjoy your self.

You can visit the BAZAR (Souk Arabi) in Downtown for some exotic shopping. Or you can visit Sidi Bou Said and try Tunisian cuisine then have traditional Tunisian coffee or Tea in a café overlooking the beach.

Of course its ok to just wander about as in any other city! There are lots of interesting things to see in Tunis. If you want to relax there are many streetside cafes where you can sit & watch the world go by. Tunis is a very metropolitan city with many different nationalities making up the population. Please note that the only places you cannot visit are the mosques, unless you are Muslim. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Enjoy your time here in Tunisia.

Half a day in Tunis is not bad. If you are an adventurous type, you can it it exploring the Medina. You will be sure to find things and people that are tres interesting. If more on the chill side, take a train to the triage of La Marsa, Sidi Bu Said and Carthage. Beach and lots of little activities there like shopping, ice cream, food, etc.

Bon voyage.
