Canary Islands usually have a mild and dry climate all year round with winter temps ranging around 13 to 20 C. However, due to the massive epocal climate changes we are experiencing, even those islands have been affected and this winter has been really heavy compared to the usual, with much more rain, lower temps, much stronger winds. Well I have to say, we have had the worst Winter this year since we have lived here (five years). Although nowhere near as cold as the UK, the evenings can be very chilly. Shorts and teashirts are okay for during the day and perhaps some warmer wear for the going out at night.

February. You plan ahead! Normally in Feb you'll need short sleeves during the day and a light jacket at night. However it can also be rainy and windy for weeks on end. February is one of the most changeable months. Check one or more of the internet weather sites weatherchannel.com, weatherunderground.com etc. nearer the time. They will give an approximate monthly forecast and give you historic temperatures. Even weathermen get it wrong though, of course.

Hiya, we have " microclimate " here, means the weather REALLY depends WHERE you`re going ! - every 20 miles, weather can change completly. rain, lots of wind, sunshine even snow, especially this time of the year ! Tenerife south, prepare for sun and wind - north and west, fog and rain ! so better be prepared ! have a nice holiday !

We do have a wonderful climate here in the canary islands. We are having one of the 'coolest' winters for a while but that means about 19-20º during the day in the South and when sunny goes up to 24º so lovely for the beach. At night goes down to about 15º and may feel cooler by the coast because of the sea breezes and if you go up the mountains it will be a lot cooler. The North of the Island (Puerto de la Cruz) is always cooler than the south. I would advise jeans, or shorts and T-shirt for the day with a jacket or cardi for the evening. If you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hi there... I've been before in March(for carnaval, in 2003) and the weather was mild on good days and rather rainy on bad days. Storms can be quite bad at this time of year, but it is generally a nice temperature, so if you are going for Carnaval you'll just have to drink a couple more rhum mixers or Mojitos and you'll be on your way!
