You surely have to go and visit the gallery Dell'accademia with the statue David made by Michelangelo .The cathedral , or any other church or chapel . If you don't have the money to buy the quite expensive entrance tickets just walk around and enjoy the beauty of everything . There are a lot of people in the streets so if you just look around always there is something special to see.

Almost everything you need to join a beautiful Italian adventure!
Art, relax, sea and mountains, food, wine...
What are exactly your needs?
Anyway, I recommend to go out from Florence also and to "lost" yourself in a beautiful medieval village...
Have a nice trip there!

Tuscany is one of the most beautiful Region in Italy!
You need only to choose. If you want to
visit Florence it will take you at least two or three days.
The first thing to visit is the Old Bridge on the river!
There are very important old building to see as the Campanile di Giotto for the history and heritage of this
experienced land! The night is magic and you can enjoy several local foods and wine! If you go outside Florence I can suggest to visit Siena, Arezzo, Lucca and Pisa where
there is the famous tower! An advice! Try to rent
a car and organize trips day by day! It's the best way to have fun, discover new places and don't expende much money
at the same time! Enjoy it in a cheapest way! In the summer time you have access also in camping areas in the mountains, but mostly depend on what kind of tourism you are finding there! Natural, cultural or neutralisical? Purist or Urbanist?

Of course do not forget eating the Fiorentina Steak with fagioli solfini!

There is a lot to see and do in Tuscany, the difficulty is really where to start. Certainly most should start with Florence, then continue on to Siena and Pisa. The roll call of città di arte, cities of art, is daunting: Arezzo, Cortona, San Gimignano and Lucca are all striking.
Visitors to Tuscany come for many reasons. Many come in search of fine art, others to explore the extraordinary countryside. Gourmets and wine buffs descend on Tuscany to enjoy the simple yet wonderful cuisine and wine. Walkers enjoy the mountain paths, cyclists the rolling hills, summer vacationers the sea coast and islands.
But remember,Don't forget to visit Umbria.....it is also a beautiful Region.....

I personally love the drive from Pienza too Montalcino. We always go from Rome and make it a weekend trip, eating Pecorino in pienzo and tasting wine(brunello) in montalcino. the south of tuscany is especially beautiful. Not to miss is Volterra, a beautiful town with Etruscan walls, Roman ruins, and medievil history, plus really amazing alabaster
