Good morning Bruce!

It is really nice to know that you will come to this amzing and friendly country.

I November the weather is excelent, will be in spring time. No rains and not really hot weather, just mild and you will really enjoy wherever you could go!

We have an amazing and huge Delta on the Parana River. You could take a boat sailing from Puerto Madero 1hs.45min goin to Tigre, you you will se differents islands, rowing clubs and waters sports . You could have a lunch on the fancys restaurantes along the river side and then coming back from Tigre by car, van or bus and see all the north area of the suburbs which is the most rich area in Buenos Aires Province. Then you will on the way the President Residence (Olivos) and the huge stadium of River Plate.
Also you could take a city tour ging trough the 8 main neigborhoods in the Capital (Federal District) like May Square, San Telmo, La Boca, Puerto Madero, Palermo, Recoleta, Congreso, Retiro.
Other great option is take a trip to the farms, ranchs in Buenos Aires suburbs like 1.30hs - 2.00hs from town and enjoy a wonderfull gaucho (argentinian cow boy) day with an awesome asado! (argentinian bbq).
During the night you will have plenty of option to do around the town! A lot of good restaurnates! bohems, fancies, cheaps and expensives ones . Also a lot of shows and tango shows!
If you will have time and is in your budget too, you could go to Valdez Peninsula where you could see and go close to the wales, pinguins, and lions sea too! It is also an amazing season to go to the Glaciares in Calafate and sail on the rivers over there. Or go to the botton of the continent! going to Ushuaia! the most southern city on the planet! If you didn´t go to Switzerland you could visit Bariloche, which is the Swiss city in South America!
Something hot and humid, but really amazing, will be go to the Iguazu Falls!
Or going to the north part of argentina woulbe a really great experience with our colonial back ground, indigenas people, amazing mountains, colours and faboulous places and small comunities.

So here you go Bruce ...

If you need something more which i could help .. please let me know ...

Greetings from Buenos Aires!
Have you an amazing day!

EXPANISH SPANISH SCHOOL IN BUENOS AIRES ARGENTINA REVIEW- COMMENT

BE CAREFUL!
DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS PROGRAM - IT IS A RIP OFF!!!!

I had a very nasty experience with expanish . The sales rep, Michelle, was a pretty 'full-on' sales type of operator. She was very keen to sell me on the full eight week deal and advised that a one week introduction was a waste of time. Trusting her advice, I booked for two weeks with a view to see how things proceeded. She also said I should start immediatly because a weekly class had just started. After a hurried sign off of the form (small print in Spanish) and payement in USD only I was seated into a class that was already half way through. The lecturer spoke, only in Spanish and adhoc sign language. I seriously had no idea what she was saying. The other students were also pulling WTF type faces at each other.

I apologized to the lecturer and explained that I was having difficulty catching up with the lesson. She snapped at me and said that I would just have to take a another lesson another time. I was angered and embarrassed to say the least. I then informed the administrators that I would prefer to cancel my lessons because I was so humiliated by the treatment and needed to start from scratch. They also informed me that some lecturers do speak english and some don't.

I offered to pay a $50 USD penalty for the hour that I was there. The sales ladiy's response was aggressive and sharp. She promptly informed that that they do not give refunds. She informed me that when I signed the personal information form, (that's what it was titled), I had also signed and agreed to their terms and conditions which are posted on their web site. The only option given to me was that I could do some private lessons for equal value or simply lose my $300 US. In other words, too bad, we have your money and there's nothing you can do about it.

After a very heated argument they finally agreed to refund half my money. The hostel that I am staying since told me that Expanish has a reputation of high pressure sales and that they would have advised mt to use a different company.

I went in there trusting good reports from forums and ended up letting my guard down when it came to making an assessment. They even had a Lonely Planet logo in their brochure and guess what? When I got back to my dorm, I checked the Lonely Planet guide and Expanish isn't even listed.

Based on this incident, my advice is to tread very carefully when dealing with the sales representative at Expanish or any english teaching business in BA. Do not let them pressure you into a rushed decision or book more lessons than you originally wanted in the first place. Make sure that they give you a print-out of the terms and conditions (in English). Be sure to make sure that the lecturer assigned to your class actually speaks English rather than pigeon English and sign language - perhaps ask to meet the lecturer.

Hope this advice proves useful in some way.

Hi, Bruce!! Of course I´d recommend you to visit this City...Here we have plenty of choices to bear in mind if you are wondering whether to come here or not. Here they go some alternatives to keep you busy during these months thinking about the itinerary or activities you´d like to do once you are here:

* Go shopping - Shopping Malls, street stores or second hand stores.

* Have walks in Puerto Madero, Downtown, `Avenida 9 de Julio´ and The Colon Theatre.

* Is recommended to go and have a walk in San Telmo where you could get beautiful handicrafts and ancient articles too. Another nice place you shouldn´t miss if you want to visit a place with Tango History is `Caminito´- located in `La Boca´neighborhood. There you have a stroll surrounded of houses taht still remain the same than 50 years ago regarding to the colorful painted walls.

* Go to a football match and experience the way we Argentinian citizens live this awesome passion.

*Visitting Buenos Aires surroundings is advisable too due to its various views - depending on the mean of transport- and different realities of the people.

I hope I´d been helpful to you. If you are interested on any of my services just let me know. I´ve lived here in Buenos Aires since I was a kid, so I know almost every corner. See you...

They have told you a lot of things to do there.
You can spend one or 2 days in the country, riding horses just 100 KM away from BA (Buenos Aires) and taste the tradicional asado (barbacue) and as someone said if ou like meat "Bife de Chorizo" is a must.
i can also recommend places in th city to learn how to ride horses or, if you already know, were to practice.
Everyone likes BA nihgt life.
Ask anything you want

hi! Buenos Aires is A MUST ! some people come and stay here just for 2 days or 3.
But you have to stay longer to understand this Cosmopolitan Society/Cosmopolitan City, where people of many ethnicities, religions and cultures meet and live in close proximity !
Like no other capital city in south america, it really worth to be visited.
Good luck! and please contact me by e.mail if your need further assistance.

Buenos Aires is a fantastic city and no matter how many times I visit, I always run out of time to see everything. I have never known a city so vibrant and full of life 24 hours a day. It's a city that never sleeps. That the awesome architecture and different areas will keep you looking and wondering.

As well as all the usual sights and museums, there are also many tango schools, tango shops, tango shows and milongas (tango dance halls) enough to fill anyone's apetite.

Talking about apetite, there are so many different food outlets, that even eating out breakfast, lunch and dinner for a year, you will never sample them all. Argentines love their food and eating is a favourite pastime, but don't rush it - you need to learn to eat slowly. Enjoy a coffee in one of hundreds of cafes situated on every street.

Need a breathe of fresh air, do a day trip to Tigre and enjoy the river. Love the countryside, then head to an estancia for a day or even overnight. Enjoy a parrilla and horse-riding. Want to get another country in, then do a day trip to Colonia in Uruguay or add on a few hours and go to Montevideo.

The list of things to do are endless. Just plan your trip so as to optimise your time and enjoy.
