To answer straight, to your questions you should look for a job where no spanish is required (a little hard thing to do in a only spanish country) not very many people speaks fluent english here, you should try to learn a bit first... About accomodation, yes you're right, Caracas is a little expensive, but is a very cosmopolitan city with many activities and superb food and nice climate... so don't get confused, if Caracas is your destination, don't change your destiny... Venezuela is a wonderful place to be visited

Greetings, Katherine. I think what you should do first is to visit Caracas that you may have a clear idea of how it is all about in Venezuela; still a big oportunity country; one of the most in south america, though some people think different. Also, being an english speaking person is an advantage. So first come to Caracas and make some friends, tell them about your plans and don´t loose your faith. Good Luck.

Hi Katherine, I agree with Leandro you should learn some basic spanish before coming here....renting prices in nice areas are very expensive...a one bedroom apartment rent can be around US$600-800 per month.....but there are some areas that are cheaper and still nice to live in...yo can go to www.tuinmueble.com and check rent (alquiler) prices....1 US$ is about 7,10 BsF......to find a job I guess you should get here first and start looking...I guess you best bet would be to teach english here..at least to start with. Hope my recommendations are useful

Hi Katherine, will you come to work? to live? What exactly would yo like to do, yo say something about finding a job.... you don't seem to know exactly what are you going to do here hahaha! Sorry, but that's what it seems!
I think the first you need to know is very little people speaks english, so what kind of job are you looking for?
Living in Caracas is expensive. The accomodation is the most important and very expensive, because you have no idea what are you going to do, I suggest you to apply first on internet for places to work, may be in the hotel industry, and then you could figure out where to live. Caracas is small, but the traffic jams and gridlocks could play against your plans.
Other thing, you want to rent an apartment, a room, a hotel room???? A lot of people rent spaces in their departments, so it could help you, not to spend that much as in an apartment for yor own.

Hi Katherine, the best way to get to Caracas is by a private taxi once you are at the airport. I recommend you find a job first before you come here ;). Not everybody speaks english.... Venezuela at this moment is going through a very difficult time so, I really think you should see other options before you made up your mind and come here ;). But if you want to still come to Caracas, let me know and I will fill you up with more detailed info.
Take care, bye :)

Hello Katherine, good I meet Caracas but I do not live there, it is a relatively expensive city for the local currency, but in dollars it is a super bargain sale, take care of her it has his attractions but it is of care there is great violence especially in the center of take care and the bordering quarters, to come there you must take a flight in the direction of Venezuela to the international airport of Maiquetía, this stays in the state Vargas of there you can take a transport to Caracas for taxi and stay at the excellent hotels of the capital. I live at two hours of Caracas, in the city of Valencia, hope that it should serve you the information that I am sending to you. Any thing my mobile number is 584127786931.

Hello Katherine. I agree that much of what you recommend here, the Rentals are very expensive, and you should be at least informed that areas would be more or less safe to live, travel, work etc.
Could begin to check with your embassy to see if they get through facilities.
Maybe look for a job as a teacher of English in schools here in Caracas there are many schools who teach English.
You would help to have some friends while you start and learn a little Spanish.
If you have other options, analyze them well, Venezuela is a country of great opportunity, but is currently not experiencing a good time, I really would not be easy for you to come now, but everything would be what are your reasons for choosing Caracas.
I hope this serves as something, excuse my English.
And always order

Hello Katherine: where are you coming from? I suggest you try to learn basic Spanish before coming here cause not too many people speak or understand English. Caracas is the most expensive city in Venezuela and one of the most expensive in the world. So if you are on a tight budget, explore the possibility of getting room and board in exchange for light cleaning or babysitting. Check the English newspaper The Daily Journal for opportunities.

Hi, Kathy; first let me suggest you improve your English, before you learn Spanish, don't you think you ought to, too? Sorry if I offend with my age-earned frankness, don't at all mean to. Then: Why so eager on Caracas? There are so many nicer places in South America - like Brazil, where I function and live. Hugs; Jim
