Hi Stephanie, I'm sure you would love Mrakech and the beautiful weather there!! Normally there is no special dress code but preferably don't show off a lot as u might be harassed by some freaks at the old medina!! night wise, just let it go girl and have fun, u'll be surprised to see how night life changes people there!! Have fun and enjoy some of the beautiful sites there!!
Meryam!!

HI STEPHANIE, how are you? well i don't think you need any dress code for being in Marrakech becoz people are widely open and they don't force anybody to dress as they want but it's required not to put some really outragious clothes on for respect of course. nowadays peope here becomes familiar with the western way of clothing and they can co-exist with foreigners. i just wish a good luck for you and happy stay in marrakech and if you ever need any help contact me on this Email: xesko5@hotmail.com or my number +21265268887. i'll be glad to help u in your stay.

Hi there. You will probably meet more tourists than Moroccans in Marrakech these days, although it is well worth visiting if only for the amazing ambience of the Djamaa El Fna at night. Dress as you wish, but to avoid being stared at ask your Dad to treat you to a couple of djallabas, which are the traditional national dress and can be really beautiful. I would say be careful going out on your own and certainly do not have confidence in Moroccan men, even if they seem incredibly friendly and offer to help you at every turn - sad but true, better safe than sorry. Enjoy.

hey Stephanie, I agree with Meriem , there are no dress codes, just something normal, not very short nor very tight just to avoid the harrassement, enjoy your time, Marrakech is very lovely not just at night but in the morning as well, try not to be alone all the time.
have a good trip.

hey Stephany, well Marrakesh is by far the most beautifull city in Morocco, you will have the opportunity to visit some of the most extraordinary cities in my point of view, you'll feel like living in another time, another century. Nature all around is wonderfull, you'll see snow on mountains side by side to desert! u'll go back to the past, smell the parfume of past, be pleased with multitude of colours. You don't need special dress code there, but don't show off a lot to avoid some harrassements. To visit the old medina, i think you should have a male companion, your dad for example. Having a moroccan guide could be a good idea too. Enjoy your journey.

Hi Stephanie,
I'm afraid you'll get confused by so many blurred overlapping answers. We all tend to take our own perceptions and experiences as the standard for reality. So if this can help, you want to know the following:a- There's no dress code. You do not have to buy and wear the local overall gown(jellaba)unless you fancy that. Otherwise it'll just make you feel/look awkward. Safety wise, unfortunately, shit can happen anywhere. In the medina, hasslers approach tourists, men and women alike, rather for getting some money by taking them to some "monkey business" place than for anything else. Of course young men will try their luck with some pretty young girl and get annoyingly sticky-especially if she responds in a friendly way that is easily interpreted as consent. Once you know this and act as wisely and cautiously as in your hometown, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself at most. Good luck!
