Being and avid golfer do you know the name and website of the closest golf course to Salinas.

We are possibly looking at staying in Salinas next February 2011 for 4 weeks to golf and my wife to shop. We are interested in the golf info for now and then we will ask more questions later....Thanks

The closest one will be La Costa Country Club but is around 100 km away.

There are no Golf Camps in Salinas, the closest is La Costa Country Club at 33 kms from Guayaquil-Salinas highway. There is a small camp in General Villamil Playas, but I don't think that's what you are looking for due to its dimensions. And yes like Ivan told before, the distance from La Costa Country Club to Salinas is 56 Miles. If I'am not wrong you can find lodgement in La Costa Country Club also.

From Salinas It will not be very accesible.
Even if you do have very frequent en regular bus service from Salinas to Guayaquil (CLP or Liberpesa companies) it will take more than an hour before being at Lacosta Country Club.
You will find more info on http://www.feg.org.ec/Clubes/Costa.htm from the Ecuadorian Golf Federeation but don´t have a look at the web page of the club wich is useless. On the page of the Federation you will find telefone and mail to get in touch with.
Closer oportunity for you to overnight in a very good little boutique hotel is Hacienda El Castillo in Ceresita... Very nice and only about 15 up to 20 minutes away. http://www.haciendaelcastillo.ec/nuevoSite.swf

Their web is working and worth.
Problem is that from Salinas it will be little more than two hours away!.
But if your partner do like shopping and you playing Golf, best is maybe to think about staying in Guayaquil city. More convenient for both.
