dude the prices are not stable and every time they will change. I'm suggesting you that to look on internet for these cheap hostels cuz usually they have their own websites and there are dozens of them in Amsterdam.

I would suggest using www.hostelworld.com. I've always managed to get great deals through them.

hello, great that you have planned a trip to amsterdam.
The best way to find a budgethotel or hostel is to check on the website www.booking.com type in amsterdam and the dates you stay. and you can search on price, stars, etc, etc. I use the website myself a lot. Most places or situated in or near the centre, amsterdam is not that big and public transportation is good. If you have more questions i'm delighted to answer and make your stay as comfortable as possible.

I would like to recommand the Quentin Arrive hotel. (check website http://www.quentinhotels.com/Arrive/aboutus.html). A 1 star hotel, good located! Some Dutch hotelbrokers as eg. Hotelstunter.nl has special offers for this hotel, starting with only € 22,- per person per night. breakfast not included, but tax is. Enjoy your stay in Amsterdam. And do consider going down South and visit my hometown Breda!

In Amsterdam November is off season. My advice is not to book. Just come and book a hotel on arrival. You can go to Amsterdam hotel service damrak 6 (opposite central station) They always no the best deals, or just try some hotels. Near leidseplein and in De Pijp hotels are much cheaper and the surrounding is actually nicer as near Central Station.
ps. Always watch the websites (like hotels.nl) before you leave....when there is a conference in town, prices can be higher

I've booked a client at the Hotel Van Onna (1-star) and he liked the hotel. Personally, I never stayed there. Check it out http://www.hotelvanonna.nl/english.html.

Try http://www.hans-brinker.com/. It's a hostel or you can have your own room. The location is quiet, safe and close to all the attractions, located itself in a historic building on the Kerkstraat, near to the Rijksmuseum and Leidseplein.
