i definately don t think it would be possible to do all these attractions in only one day. normally the taxi tours are going either to the south, the north, the west or the east coast... so, i guess for the things you wanna see you need minimum 4 days.
ille aux cerfs is as from 800 Rs, it s a day trip including food.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for having contacted us and please be informed that due to different regions, I would recommend, to avoid any rush, your mentioned excursions in 3 days as follows:

Day 1 - Floreal, Trou aux Cerfs, Curepipe, Mare aux Vacoas, Grand Bassin (Hindu Sacred Lake), Plaine Champagne and Chamarel Coloured Earth + Lunch including drinks package at Chamarel and entrance fees - USD 160 for 2 persons

Day 2 - Port Louis, Sugar Estate Museum (very interesting as it shows the history of Mauritius), Pamplemousses Botanical Garden including lunch + drinks package at Tante Athalie Restaurant and entrance fees - USD 175 for 2 persons

Day 3 - Ile aux Cerfs (Island) including boat trip, BBQ lunch with lobster and drinks - USD 160 for 2 persons

As far as taxis are concerned, there are a few professionals who can really show and explain to you the different places and some would unfortunately take you to shops on the way to get commissions behind your back. I would sincerely recommend that you contact a ground handler who will provide you with a professional guide at no cost.

Do hope that the above explanation will meet with your expectations and wish a nice vacation on our island.

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

It is possible to visit these sites in two days, but all depend on the number of time spend in visiting one site. For example, one day trip: Chamarel, chamarel waterfall, chamarel colored earth, Chamarel view, 'Rhumerie de Chamarel', Plaine Champaign, Black River Gorge View, Grand bassin, Rochester fall, Gris Gris, Tea factory Bois cheri, and La vanille cocodile park. Frankly speaking, it is advisable to go on a two day trip in order to enjoy the site and its unique features.

On another day, you can visit, Mauritian Heritage museum, Tour matelo, Black River Gorge, Casela nature park (safari), Albion light house, Apravasite Ghat, Post museum, Blue Penny museum, National Museum, Photograhy museum, Port louis market, and China Town.

I offer this package with accommodation in La Gaulette. These trip are affordable.

Why not Benitier island instead of Ile aux cerf? Benitier Island is not as a tourist attraction as Ile aux Cerf. Picnic, dolphin tours, and diving can be organised near Benitier island.

Hi there!

Touring Mauritius with a taxi can get expensive especially shopping where they rake 15% and more commission from the shop owners.

I am not so conversant with the rates but from what I hear from tourist who are looking for cultural tourism a couple of operators I can suggest although I have no first hand experience with them and my suggestion is only based on what I have heard or read on the Internet.

Have a look at a couple of sites:

www.cadabramauritius.com, www.accommodation.io, www.maurisun.mu. I find www.holidays-mauritius.travel more interesting as it promotes sustainable tourism as opposed to the other 3 above. It is also part of the WHL group i.e. www.whl.travel.

Sorry can't help you more...

Hello, Thanks for your question. You are obviously trying to plan your time here in Mauritius. As for the attractions you have mentioned, it would be possible to visit most of them listed in Q1 in two days but it would be very rushed and you would not have much time to visit these places. It would be best to spend a day in the Floreal, Curepipe area and taking in Bois Cheri and the Black River Gorge and Chameral. This would be a full day. A second day could take in Port Louis, sugar museum and the botantical gardens. Ile Aux Cerfs is a further day and its probably best seen on a boat or catamaran tour. All the bookings, taxi and boat, can be made once here. As a ball park figure you would be looking at a min of Rs1000+ (per person) per day for the taxi plus some entrance fees and a boat trip is about Rs1500 (per person) including food etc. Hope you have a great trip and enjoy it here.

you will need a minimum of 5 days to see half the attractions. So for 2 days, all depends on your taste: is it shopping or sight seeing?
