don't think we should be encouraging such practices...

these reasons are mine - and i strongly believe in non violence and hunting as a sport is one of cowards...
don't think foreigners are allowed any such rights...even carrying firearms will be an offense...and i guess u will have to wait a life time before the Indian govt. permits u one...

but more important is that u don't have a good profile...its totally incomplete...so even if there is opportunities, i wouldn't share them with you...

Even I vouch for Priya's view on Hunting. Hunting is not permitted within India anywhere.

Everybody's life is precious, we should always try to preserve it & don't destroy. As already many species are on the verge of extinction i.e. on land, under sea & vegetation too.

So, KEEP PEACE >>>> & enjoy the mother-nature at its best form. You can go to various National Reserves located in India like the Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand etc.

I think Ahmad is a total ignoramus about the laws in India about hunting....... Hunting has been banned in India since 1972 to preserve the species. I am sure when you go for hunts Ahmad mian, you are always looking behind your back... Incidentally, I am not a vegetarian and I don't believe in searchlight hunts etc... When I did hunt, I always gave the animal the chance to escape. But as time went by, I started to appreciate the beauty of the animals and since then, hunt animals regularly with my cameras.. By the way,I was born in Aligarh spent my entire childhood in Amir Nishan/Dodhpur and grew up in Uttar Pradesh.

My request to you is to brush you is to brush yourself up on the laws in India and ONLY THEN comment on them..

Hunting is a criminal act. Apart from law, i think we have a moral responsibility to preserve what nature has given us. Mankind wouldn't have been what it is, without the biodiversity and ecosystem to support it. There is no pleasure in hunting and those who manage to escape the eye of law (and hunt), should try to take inspiration from Suez.

Dear Ahmad, having been brought up in a feudal background where hunting was an integral part of the "lifestyle", I can understand your view point... But, animals have as much a right to live as we humans have and they definitely look better in their natural habitat than as trophies or in the zoos.
Please accept my appreciation for understanding my point of view and with all humility, I welcome you into my home of animals and humans. Islam means peace, and peace for all including animals.. There is no joy in killing anyone or any creature..

I was born and lived my childhood in Hasan Mazil and still have the lovely memories of the birds and animals in and around that area when it was still a relative wilderness. I miss all that whenever I have gone to Aligarh and seen the state of affairs from Lal diggi to amir nishan and onto to doohpur. Do write to me and drop in whenever you come to Delhi..

Best regards

Hunting is banned all across India. In case as a good world citizen I should actually report such a query.

Kindly give animals a chance to live their natural lives.

I agree with you wholeheartedly Vimal Bhai.. But one positive outcome of this whole debate has been the reform of Mr. Shervani. I feel we should encourage such debates and that way, we can identify the people who are/can be reformed to protect the animals and those who cannot.. The reporting can then be taken up on a more serious level. My personal belief is to try and reform people first and only then go in for any action. Probably this would be more effective in creating an awareness of animal rights and also teach many more to appreciate the beauty of the animals in their natural habitat. And further, this might also help people like us to do something to protect and extend the habitat which has been constantly reduced due to the greed of some humans.

I would rather give up my own house if that resulted in an increase of animal protection and an increase in their habitat along with more awareness about them.

Sorry man not now! India shutdown hunting in 1972.But the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh is seriously considering a Campfire-type program in which local villages will benefit from licensed trophy hunting. The reason for this is the $2.5 million annual loss due to the devastating of crops caused by the populations of wild boar, blackbuck antelope and axis deer. The plan as it currently stands is to conduct various population surveys to determine hunting quotas, then offer permits for auction to private agencies that may then sell the permits to traveling hunters

Incidentally, many other states Rajasthan U.P. etc. have also been considering similar steps but, it has all come to a big zero due to various reasons... We need the political will and extreme care to allow such a thing. Knowing the scale of corruption and such things about India, such a programme will never succeed. Instead it might result in a serious depletion of wildlife..
