I would like to bring my family for a snorkeling trip in kuantan. Is there any in kuantan itself?

there is no suitable places in kuantan for snorkeling... u can try island like redang or tioman which will definitely satisfy ur holiday...

Hi,
Kuantan is not a suitable place for snorkeling and can say no place for snorkeling.
However you can go to nearby Island like Tenggol Island or further up like Redang Island, Perhentian Island, Lang Tengah Island.

Not in Kuantan... the best place for snorkelling is at marine Park Tioman Island...

the nearest beach in kuantan(pahang) is cherating,it has kinda big waves, suitable for board surfing, not snorkeling..for snorkeling, head to perhentian island/tioman island/redang/pangkor/kapas island

althou kuantan have many beaches,i dont think it suits for snorkeling.surfing and boating,yes,bt not snorkeling.go to the nearest island instead such as redang perhentian and tioman. XD

Kuantan is not bad for beach activities, but I suggest you stay on the water, rather than in the water. The water isn't dirty perse, just murky from the sediment that gets churned around.
Best snorkeling trips to be had are in the Seri Buat Archipelago: Tioman, Aur, Dayang, etc. Drive from Kuantan to Tanjung Resang, about an hour or so, then hop across any of the islands there. Or hook up with the sea sports operators in Tanjung Resang.
In fact, go now, because the water is clearest these few months. You'll not only see lots of stunning corals, but you may even spot whale sharks, turtles and manta rays as they migrate along the coast.
