i will ask first why la union?? there is not much to see overthere i will say there is nothing well just the beach but there is more places at the north of the country .anyways thats not true you will not been raped at the airport dont worry foe that there is some dangerous places like in any other country in the world but if you stay in beautiful places or tourist places or malls or places like that youll be safe !!!!!!

Hi Linda, like in any other country around the world there are places with some risk that aren`t recommended to visit and some safe places to visit. Americans are welcome in El Salvador, and La Uniòn is getting developed in a rapid pace. Just make sure that your providers in transportation and guides, hotels, are serious companies.

La Unión is a very cool place especially if you are staying on the Islands. There are 3 main Islands, Zacatillo, Conchaguuita and Meanguera. The last one is the best one to stay at. It's a 45 min boat ride out. There are 2 hotels, I recommend Joya del Golfo (only has 6 rooms) but it's all new and its run by an American. The place is like stepping back 30 years to the past. Nice nature walks, very safe.
La Union city is OK. there are not too many things to do but you are near beaches like Tamarindo and Playas Negras which are very nice. I recommend going to Jiquilisco Bay if you want to do some touring and see some spectacular wild life.

Absolutelly La Union is like a little out-of-city place, so is pretty safe, but if you are looking for fun you should visit San Salvador and take one of my special tours whit your dad... Think about it ok????

linda....dont worry ...EL SALVADOR is great ...just dont show off expensive stuff in poor areas ...u wont get raped in the airport unless thats a fantasy...lol....but all bullshit aside...el salvador ...is a country of progress and 3rd world realities....i love it here ...its still not as controlled as USA
