There are many good to average hotels in Pattaya that are just a short walk to the beach and many of them are less than 1,500 baht. I have stayed in quite a few but don't really have any preference. On my side I advise the Blue Angel hotel, confortable clean and about 600 Baht per night. It is placed on Jomtien beach, cross intersection with te police box, about 50 meter, and 100 meter from the beach. Georges, the boss, is very friendly. A best price quality in my mind. Yannick

The Sabai Lodge on Soi 3 Beach Road is an excellent choice, You are a three minute walk from the beach, the rooms are large and comfortable, the hotel has a swimming pool and two restaurants. The staff are friendly and will help you to make the most of your stay

There are many good budget hotels too for +- 600 Baht per night that are clean, serviced and have air con (http://www.apexhotelpattaya.com) Basically all you need is a place to sleep and shower as you will most likely be outdoors most of the day and even evenings. Some even have a swimming pool. However, if you need a more upmarket hotel, please refer to the first link.

The best hotel i can recommend is Sandy Spring in Soi 13. middle of the city and 70 meters from the beach. Has a seawiew room to 1200 bhat.

I would suggest Flipper Lodge on Soi 8, about 20m from Beach Road. This hotel has very friendly staff, excellent facilities & had all its rooms upgraded last year.

the best place to stay on the beach at Jomtien beach ,Pattaya I would recommend The Ambassador hotel
this is one of the biggest hotel around 6,000 rooms ,very nice & serene ,full facilities & 3 large swimming pools..enjoy your holiday

The good hotels are clean and offer good amenities, but for 1500.00 TB per day you are not going to get five star accomodation, check when you are there and ask around. Don't book in advance. With the economic stiution now, there are bargins to be had.
