Hi , How are you? I'm from Luala Lumpur, planning to travel to Brisbane, Ausssie for a couple of days. I am really on a tight budget, so please advice on the accomodation, and travelling expenses within the city. On top of that, how do I get to Melbourne from Brisbane, economically? as for accomodation it would be best to stay in back packers hostels, they are cheapest and generally clean and safe. to travel in the city buses or trains are cheapest and definately cheaper than TAXI's which can be expensive if u are going a distance. to get from melbourne to brisbane a train would be cheapest. i've looked it up and it should cost you about $90 aud and you get to see the east side of the country. the train will also go through sydney which is quite pretty.
have fun in your travel and be safe.

If your on a budget and you want something to do in bris i have some ideas depending on what you like.
1. you must visit the southbank precinct. There are markets on fridays, saturdays and sundays. Depending on when you come there is always something on. Plus there is a awesome beach.
2. botanical gardens. If you are into gardens then it is a must see.
3. catch a citycat up the river. It is cheaper than going on a cruise up the river and almost as good.
4. If you can afford it visit australia zoo. Just catch a train to Beerwah station and catch the zoo bus. If you want to know the prices for this just ask.
5. while you are at beerwah visit the town of glasshouse and take in some country atmosphere. you can also see the glorious glasshouse mountains.
6.Day trip up the coast to mooloolaba. You can catch the train up there!! You might like it so much you will want to stay overnight.
7. visit the treasury casino. If you want to have a dabble it has a great atmosphere.
8. Make your way to the top of mount cootha. the view is amazing. You can see all of brisbane. If you can make it there around dusk you get the added bonus of seeing it in the day and then the lights at night.
9. visit the queen street mall and the valley. It is not too exciting, but worth visiting.
10. tell me when you are coming and i will see if i can show you some sights.
