Dear sir,
A little information about Dolphins in Mauritius:
Dolphins are one of the most fantastic creatures that live in the ocean. The dolphins - cheerful and playful, symbol of intelligence and grace.
Dolphins lived in pods of around 20 individuals or more and can be observed swimming casually from Tamarin (on the west coast of Mauritius) on their way to the deep sea off the coast of le Morne peninsula, early in the morning.
The Dolphins, the Bottlenose Dolphin and the Spinner Dolphin, have made the West Coast of Mauritius a place for them to rest and sleep before going to the deep sea for their fishing.
Best Regards
Vishal

Hi Marina.
Regarding dolphins please note that swimming with them is a plus in these excursions. It all depends on the amount of boats arround and the sea conditions but I must admit it`s great fun. Now the two main villages that organize these types of excursions are Flic en Flac and Black River. The prices vary from Rs 2000 to Rs 2500 per person and it complies with dolphin watching, snorkeling at the aquarium, visiting Crystal Rock and a BBQ on Benitiers Island and that`s a whole day trip.
Here you go. Hope I`ve been able to help you out a bit and if you have any other queries do not hesitate to contact me on motizile@gmail.com
P.s : Visit this link where you`ll find more details on other available activities and also great pics.

Hi Marina,
In fact dolphins can be seen mostly in the bay of Tamarin, west coast of Mauritius but as far as I know, it is practiced secretly by some unofficial boat owners and skippers,
I understand how this can be one of your fantasy but this is no more authorised by the tourism authority as it can be risky for some people as dolphins are considered to feel human nature easily and we never know what may happen.
Nevertheless, during catamaran cruises along the west and sometimes north cosst, you get very close to them, wile staying on board.
Nice holidays and Good Luck !!!
Cheers
Babita

Dear Marina,
I would like to thank you for your mail and please note that swimming with Dolphins are done in the west coast of the island and you have a a great opportunity to see whales, but very rare. I would recommend you to book your stay in the west coast of the island as swimming with Dolphins & big game fishing are done in that region.
Should you wish to have more information, you are most welcome.
Yours truely,
Jayprakash Sookun.
