The night life in Amsterdam during the week is horrible. Everything is closed around just after midnight. And the most clubs or bars that are open later, are these dark holes where shady people go.
check out www.good2b.com for al the best clubs/bars/restaurants/locations in Amsterdam
If I had the opportunity to open up a bar/club/restaurant/lounge I would consider my international travelogues.

I can't agree on the statement written by the last traveler. Amsterdam has a night life during the week, you just have to know where to go to. And the shady places are not so shady at all if you are into adventure.
Mail me for further questions about particular preferences.

well you should go on this adventure with Katja if your looking to meet drug dealers, prostitutes and junkies, seeing the girl from Hoorn knows it all.
But I didn't say that all the places during the week where shady, there are private invite only parties, organised to avoid shady folk. someone who lives her and gets all the invites should direct you to it.

I know this is not the place to have discussions but i just want to state that i have nothing to do with drug dealers or shady business whatsoever. My point was that there are many cultural places as NDSM werf, Westergasfabriek, Wilhelmina Pakhuis and such places which are a little off the beaten track, not at all mainstream thus a little more adventurous than just going clubbing or visiting a bar. Furthermore i am actually living ten kilometres from Amsterdam right now and only the company i'm working for is situated in Hoorn

The Amsterdam Ultimate Party pubcrawl has an excellent party throughout all the week. Although sunday-tuesday might be our slower nights, we still take out a lot of people to the best party places for that night and make sure they have a good time!

In Amsterdam you can enjoy yourself everyday of the week, but the week-ends are the most crowded

As far as I know, Monday is dead.
Tuesday is where certain people prefer to go out to certain places. Some places even boast a ladies night (rare).
Wednesday is a vodka or spirit night and also the day when the Tuesday people relax. Thursday is student night & Friday is the night where the employed celebrate the start of the weekend.

To add one more opinion to this. I agree, Monday and Tuesday are slow. But thereafter there is definitely life to be found. But even on Monday's there's club More on Rozengracht. Odeon, Arena, Escape and Winstons can also be busy. Check out www.nl20.nl and click on DJ to see what sort of music is playing when and where. For pubs, Dirty Nellys on the Warmoestraat is busy almost always and many of the small bars on Zeedijk and Nieuwmarkt.
