Two nice, quiet and cheap hotels but prefectly located to walk to the major sites are:
http://www.hotelfontana-trevi.com/ and http://www.hoteltrevirome.com/it/
The first has a spectacolar view on the foamou Trevi fountain, the second is just around the corner.(look on google map their location)

Well we stayd in Yellow Hotel and everythink was OK. Rome is very nice to be honest.
