f there is a city that everyone agrees to consider only to spend the New Year's Eve, well, that is Rome. The streets of the capital on the evening of Dec. 31 crowd of young and old, of Roman doc and tourists who come from around the world to greet the new year in the name dell'allegria and feel like carelessness. Want to the climate is usually mild, allowing, even if with scarf and coat, to toast and celebrate outdoors without dying from the cold, either because the atmosphere in the streets of the center has a flavor all its part, the New Year in Rome is an experience that goes at least once lived.

Dear traveler,
Great you're coming to Italy for the new year's eve. There would be a lot to see and to do, plus Rome is a very romantic city to visit with your beloved ones.
New Year's Eve biggest event is held in Piazza del Popolo with a big concert with fireworks, rock and classical music lasting well into the night, however all over the city's squares you'll find people eager to celebrate the new year.
I would reccmmend to stay in a centrally located hotel and/or B&B as Taxi are hard to get by on Dec.31 and Jan.1. There so much to see and that very depends on your personal taste and interests. My other suggestion would be prior to your departure to browse Wanted in Rome online magazine to check for the latest info about concerts, exhibitions, and museums and prepare your to do & see list.
Of course you should not miss the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and the Borghese Gallery, and perhaps an easy day trip to the Ostia excavations to visit the Ancient port of Rome or Tivoli to enjoy Hadrian's Villa and Villa D'Este could be taken into consideration.
Hope this helps but please feel free let me know if you need any further advise and/or suggestion:-)
Enjoy your Roman Holidays!
Ciao from Rome

In Rome there are several events on New Year's Eve, usually there is a concert in Piazza del Popolo with classical music and ballet and most of the clubs organize New Year's Eve parties and events.
I hope I gave you a nice idea for your visit of Rome and I also suggest to visit
