in the same hotel or same room that u mean?
if u r muslim but unmarried (u n ur partner), it's not allowed for the Islam religion but sometime people still stay at the same room and unsure they do not do anything prohibited from the rule, but if u r non muslim it's doesnt matter.but mostly hotel in malaysia doesnt care your status regardless u r married, unmarried, muslim or non muslim.

It depend on your religion. In Malaysia, muslim unmarried couple are not allowed to stay in a same room but yes in a separate room, same hotel. As for non-muslim, you are allowed to stay in the same room or other religion who did not practice the law, you can do that.

Unmarried couple can stay in the same hotel, in the same room provided both parties are non-Muslim! If either one is a Muslim then you can be detained under the Syariah law.

Most non-Muslims can stay together in the same hotel room in major destinations such as KL, Penang, Langkawi, Pangkor... but not too sure about the state of Kelantan.

Haha, very good question actually but everyone has answered your question. Just keep in mind, if you are out with a Muslim Girl/Guy, best not to attempt this.

David

technically if you are unmarried but is muslim, then the islamic police can detain you. but usually for high-class hotels, u usually wont have a problem. so try avoiding hotels that are low rated such as 1 or 2 star hotels. and try not to make too much noises or anything that can disturb your neighbors because they might make a complaint and the hotel will call up the security or in worse case, the police or islamic police. then you will be in trouble. other than that, high class hotels are fine with it and they wont ask if you are married or not. perhaps it would be a bigger deal if you are muslim malaysian or from a country such as singaporean or any neighboring countries that have the same Malay-ish features. but for foreigners even from Arabs usually never encountered such problems. enjoy ur stay!
