Hello, my recommendation is the following .
First stay in San Juan, there are many hotels at different budgets.
Buses are available. If you take tours , you would want to see the rain forest the old city the caverns the observatory.
There are all kinds of places to eat , from a hot dog stand to a fine cuiseine restaurant . Do try the local rice and beans with chicken.
There are museums and a marketplace. Keep track of upcoming concert. Paul McCartney was here not too long ago.
There are many city beaches that you can go to. Walking distance.
Bars and pubs are all over.
