The Bay Area is pretty awesome right from the point you touch down, fighting the fear that you may land on the water.

Hi -- I am not sure what you had in mind but I think San Francisco's Ferry Building and Market (Tuesday and Saturday)qualifies as a "best place".

Also the Golden Gate bridge, Golden Gate Park, Sausalito and 17 miles drive. Depending on your interest you may want to visit world war II submarine at Fisherman's Wharf.

You must walk across the Golden Gate Bridge and back. Bring at least 3 layers of warm clothing for this walk; it can be foggy, windy and cold. No matter the weather, it's a unique experience. Bring your camera and money for the parking meters.
