The management of the bus service in Limassol has recently changed and it has also improved a lot. A site has also been launched, available in Greek and English, showing all the routes, stops and timetables. Here is the site:

Yes, there is a bus service.

Buses run along the seafront to the main terminus located in the Old Town and also there are local buses to the inland villages.

A tourist bus runs from Dassoudi Beach by the Tourist Office to Troodos and Mount Olympus.

There are also intercity communicating buses between the main town and Nicosia.

Bus time tables and schedules are available from tourist offices or directly from the bus companies. Be aware that services stop early daily (at approximately 18:00) and there is limited bus service on weekends (some areas have no service on Sundays). Bus fare is paid directly to the bus driver; exact change is required.
There are three stations for busses in Limassol, though most urban busses use the station at Andreas Themistocleous Street in the city centre. Intercity service is offered from the KEMEK bus station at Enoseos and Eirinis Street, and the Kallenos bus station at the intersection of Hadjipavlou Street and Araouzou Street.

Answers covered - but i would say that i would only trust the main sea road bus. and if possible get a bicycle and you dont need the bus.
