in cairo we don't escort the tours....but if we travel at night sometimes we do it between the cities......

We make the same applications to the police and the choice to escort is theirs. Not normally in Cairo although you will see a police presence when the buses/vehicles stop at locations around the city.

Actualy Cairo is a very safe city, we don't need escort inside it, although we file papers to the police and they decide to supply us with escort or not.

Actually,Sometimes tours are escorted by the police when they go camping in the desert for example but other than that they aren't escorted by the police because tourism police are everywhere.
