Hi! Sorry I'm not from Bucharest but I can give you some advices.
First, whoever is going to help you, should have a car so you can visit as many places as you can. Second, everybody wants your money, I'm sure, so be careful who you are trusting because I'm guessing that you don't want to ruin your vacation. Then don't back-up on this, because I'm trying to help you. You should come to ROmania. It is a very beautiful country, believe me. I am from ROmania and I leave here but not in Bucharest. Hi! First of all, before you come, make sure that you have everything settled with your guide: you mention "friend"- they should know if you wish to hire them, or they just have to show you around; also, you will need a car- depending on your needs, you will need to rent a car with/without a driver, please make sure that you make the reservation on time, because it's a busy period for car rentals, and you can find yourself without one, or pay more than you should.
