Hellow mom3be3:
-Definitely Chile is catalogued as the safest country
in South America, the police is very effective and respected by everyone, depends of where you`d like to stay the different safety measures that have to be taken. for example Santiago is not quite the same as other parts in Chile, etc. i`ve currently known many people that come by themselves for strolling, working, studying, etc. and nothing had happened, so i recommend you to come just use your common sense anywhwere you`d stay and you will be safe.
Cheers!!!!!!

Wrong time, wrong place, you can happen anywhere in the world.
But if you trace a path to mental places to visit, you can check with a travel agency of the government, so that you make sure where you are going to be. Yet, the streets of cities in Chile are secure thanks to plan attacks against, and the routes of attractive, safe and inexpensive to visit and enjoy. If your taste is, I can give spectacular routes and sites, cabins, etc.. It all depends on your budget and the days you want permancecer in the country. See you later

Chile is safe. But you must be careful too. Like everywhere, here you can find great people and fucking bad people.
But I can tell you that young people here are very nice and friendly. There are a lot of persons who really wanna help you in your visit. Maybe not all of one can speak english fluent, but they surely wanna talk you. they will try. Chile is safe. But you must be careful too. Chile is quite a safe place, you have to be careful in big cities though, they all have bad areas/neighborhoods, but you can travel by yourself with the appropriate pocket guide and tips from locals, we've got a main highway that practically crosses the whole country (except the extreme southern part, but you can manage crossing through Argentina, so it's very easy to orient yourself, also knowing that always the Andes is the east and the sea is the west. (you have to take all the precautions if you intend to do a trip to the Andes or less urban places, Chile is a place of extremes, weather and natural conditions along the country may be severe)
