Interested in buying uncut gemstones

avatar

Web

I am hoping to visit gov valadares in early august to possibly purchase some uncut aquamarine, topaz and tourmaline of faceting quality. Does your guided tour cover these options and is there usually a minimum purchase amount in monetary terms that the gemstone dealers will only do business for? My email address is nstl1969@hotmail.com. Thankyou.

Hello,

Thank you for your enquiry! Yes the guided tour does cover these types of searches, there is no additional percentage charged on the dealers pricing, and you are free to negotiate your best possible price. I can in fact have some dealers prepared for your visit, being certain that what you are seeking is in stock. Of course the larger the quantity the better the pricing but, there are often small lots available or they may be willing to break larger lots for a premium.

I look foreword to meeting you in early August. Please advise me should you need be picked up at the G.V. regional or Belo Horizonte international airports. I can also make accommodation arrangements for you with the best area hotels at discount rates.

Thank you again for your enquiry! Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any further questions or concerns. Have a great week! Fica com Deus;

Jim Ziegler

My guided does include visits to places where gemstones are sold but I am not in Governador Valadares, I am in Rio where we also have specialized stores for gemstones. If interested just make contact. Thank you,
Patrick

Hellouh!
Sorry I'm not a tourist guide in this area. Gov.Valadares is in Minas Gerais, you should look for someone there. My father was mineralogist and he bought a lot of gems with provenience Gov.Valadares, Diamantina, TeofĂłlio Otoni,etc.As far as I know if y purchase gems as a wholesaler, y have to buy 'lotes' that means whole cases. I'm sure in the area will be special shops for unique stones too. I guess you will have to take some time there for studying the business. Good luck, Thomas

Hi,
I don't know anyone in GV-MG! But I've a handful in Ouro Preto and adjacancies, places far more indicated for such.
Don't have anyone fool you: It isn't easy to purchase uncut stones in Brazil. One HAS to know people! I do!
