Kenya National Archives was established in 1965.It is located along Moi Avenue Nairobi,Kenya.It holds an increasing number of government and historical documents and also contains exhibits of arts and crafts and photographs like the Murumbi gallery at the ground floor which takes you on a cultural tour of the African continent, show you the traditional implements and crafts used in days gone by in different parts of the continent.
THE KENYA NATIONAL ARCHIVES IS AN ATTRACTION SITE FOR BOTH THE LOCALS AND INTERNATIONALS.IT SERVES AS A VISITING PLACE FOR PUPILS AND STUDENTS SINCE IT IS ALSO AN EDUCATIONAL CENTRE.THERE ARE SEVERAL ARCHIVES FOUND THERE AND YOU SHOULD TRY YOUR BEST AND GET THERE.THE PRICES ARE POCKET FRIENDLY AND AFFORDABLE.ONE SHOULD AT LEAST ACCOMPANY HIMSELF OR HERSELF WITH RECORDING MATERIALS TO ENABLE ENOUGH RECORDING.
Kenya National Archives is situated between Tom Mboya street & Moi Avenue, just next to famous Amassadeur and adjacent Kencom House. It was established to cater for Government publications and other documents relating our country. here you can get films for as early as in 1950's during shot during the mau mau rising.
All the films records about the state, official govt statements, recorded films during public holidays, detailed history about kenya etc are found here.
The National Archives is located in the central business Area sandwiched between Kenya Commercial Bank building and Ambassador Hotel facing Hilton Hotel across Moi Avenue road. It is a vast collection of documents and reference material. And one can access these material by registering. Some of the collections displayed on the ground floor are; historical photos of Nairobi, cultural artifacts, tribal objects & a selection of contemporary art. If once is interested to learn more of Kenya and its people's history, then this is the ultimate place to visit.

The Department of the Kenya National Archives and Documentation Service was established in 1965 by an Act of parliament, CAP 19 of the laws of Kenya . The main responsibility of the Department is the care and preservation of all public records and archives.

kenya national archives, is located at the junction of moi avenue and ronald ngala street near ken com building,opposit ambassadeur hotel, the archives is unigue and popolary known for its collection of kenya diverse calture paranaphalia, that were made and used by our fore father during 17 and 18 century, if you are intrested in learning more about kenya different tribes forms of life it paramount to visit this pre historic builnding ..
Located near the Nairobi bus terminus, it is a crowded area; outside. Once inside you find an array of cultural artifacts and information. This is a refreshing change from all the game drives and hotel rooms you get to know all about the various cultures of Africa (not only Kenya) as well as historical information about the country. The also have a resource center.
