In cold winter months, inhabitants of small villages scattered across the slopes of Jastrebac mountain were forced to defend themselves from well known forest predator - wolf. Therefore, wolf chase in Jastrebac has a long tradition, which grew over the years into a nice manifestation which gathers true lovers of nature and hunting. "Big Jastrebac" hunting ground was named after the mountain, and it covers most of the mountain territory. It was founded in 1948, but even in 19th century mountain Jastrebac was famous for it's richness in numerous species of game.
