This place is an age old colonial type hotel. facing the popullar galle face green which is one of the best places to do a morning walk or a nightly visit. In addition the hotel has few nice siutes which have been renovated recently. The sea food served here is excellent and this is ideal for B andB because this Hotel is in the centre point of Colombo where you can take off to any destinations with ease.

This was a comfortable hotel; the room was clean, the bathroom large and well appointed. The public spaces were pleasant and the gardens overlooking the ocean were beautiful. The spa looked great and the massage there was one of the best ever. It was certainly a popular place for weddings of which there were at least four going on during our two night stay. Can have a romantic honeymoon and all what u need to have an unforgettable Honeymoon is in there.

This Is one of the oldest Hotels In world. It has a rich heritage and has house many royalties and celebs. Built at the time of the British Occupation in Sri Lanka. It has lovely Sri Lankan dishes as well as the foreign cuisine. With the only half an hour drive from the airport it is indeed an oasis in the middle of the financial capital of Sri Lanka, with the sea to its left and the Galle face Green in front of it.

The best of the New and the Old, that is what the Galle Face Hotel is about. If you are just visiting Colombo on Business, or going on a Tour around the Island, do not forget to stay at least one night at this lovely hotel. The Galle Face Green, right in front enhances the ambience.

It is the oldest hotel in Sri Lanka dating back to 1870 or there about. It was refurbished recently but the old world charm is being maintained. It is this factor that attracts tourists to this hotel.Situated close to the beach and the Galle face green on which you could stroll in the morning or evening gives a pleasant environment to the visitor to relax. The food is good and could be obtained in varieties such as Oriental dishes ,Chinese, or Sea food. Room service is good and the over all atmosphere is conducive to have a relaxed holiday. Plenty of shops and supermarkets are available in the vicinity.

Food at the Galle face is to be mentioned.. Super continental breakfast. Good lunch buffet, especially on the days they serve the local Sri Lanka Cuisine. A good sea food selection is too available. A cup of tea in the outside garden facing the indian ocean watching the beautiful sunst is also recommended for the traveller who likes to relax in Sri Lanka.

The Galle Face Hotel in Colombo is a myth. The english Royals have stayed there and it is still one of the first address in Sri Lanka. Even if you not lodge there, go for a tea or coffee. Let you introduce to the hotel history by the "antique" tamil waiter at the entrance. It is the one full decorated with pins. He will have the great pleasure to tell you stories about this famous place!

The Majestic view of old Colombo, building belongs to the pre-Ceylon era almost on the west coast of Sri Lanka facing the Indian ocean. Right opposite is the Galle face green where you can see plenty of people gathering for a leisurely picnic during the weekends or evenings. Very close to the downtown Fort area and a host of Hotels are lined up with many places to grab your sandwiches or an authentic Sri Lankan meal.
