As a child my family and i would visit this place and just chill out. the history in this place is so intense and you feel the presences of it as soon as you walk onto the sand. it's a good place to relax and reflect.
there is a museum and primary school near by. the town of Port Royal is also famous for its Fish and Bammy. it's tasty treat after a long day in the past.

Port Royal is known as the Wickedest City in the World.. It is where Captain Morgan hung out
with the Pirates of the Caribbean. There was a thriving center of activity and I believe it
is had a large Jewish Community as they were running from the Inquisition..There was
a major Earthquake and Tsunami which sank part of the Peninsula and some of the most
important treasures are lying there..The university of Maryland was allowed to go diving
but I believe took some artifacts and so now it is only discovered by scuba divers who can
get their equipment to dive at the wonderful hotel Morgan's Harbor which is also one of the
take off places to go to Lime Key...which is a great local favorite key where you can get
Jerk Chicken and Lobster for a song...

PORT ROYAL IS A PLACE WITH RICH HISTORY. ONCE THE RICHEST AND DUBBED THE WICKEDEST CITY IN THE WORLD. MUCH OF THE CITY IS NOW UNDER WATER WHICH WAS CAUSED BY A EARTHQUAKE IN 1692 WHICH SANK 2/3 OF THE CITY. TODAY PORT ROYAL IS A QUITE PEACEFUL TOWN THAT IS FAMOUS FOOD ITS SEA FOOD DISHES AND SEA ACTIVITIES LIKE SURFING AND DIVING TO VIEW THE SUNKEN PARTS OF THE CITY. PORT ROYAL IS A GREAT EXPERIENCE THAT I THINK EVERY VISITOR WOULD ENJOY.

This place is rich in history and has beautiful places to visit and to eat. There are a number of restaurants like the ones at Morgans Harbour that is reasonably priced and has a relaxing view of the caribbean sea. A visit here would be very enjoyable and it town is small and the people friendly. Even the trip over is lovely you can go by boat form Kingston Harbour or by bus and pass the road that goes to the airport and places like harbour view it is would be lovely experience.

It is a really nice laid back attraction, after view the museums, the giddy house, the 16th centuary Parish church and the tomb of Louis Galdy: who became famous after he survived the Great earth quake that destroyed 2/3 of the then wickedest city on earth and the surrounding towns; lunch can be had at Gloria's Seafood Restuarant.
