Firstly, Emancipation Park was set up as a place where Kingstonians and tourists alike can go to relax or exercise or watch plays and concerts. It is located in New Kingston and there is security on the compound. We are asked to not litter the area because it is for all to enjoy. Emancipation means freedom so it is the park which commemorates when slaves were freed in 1838 in Jamaica. You will see two busts that depict two slaves that looking up to heaven as if praying to God thanking him firstly and looking to him for guidance. These busts caused quite a ruckus when it was first installed. But like all art eventually persons got used to it and they still come to view them for their artistic value. Emancipation Park is a breath of fresh air in Kingston. Please don't hesitate to include this park in your tour schedule. It is a romantic setting especially at night. Nearby there is a place for children to play at Putt and Play where children can be occupied while you get a breather to relax. You may have to pay a minimal fee for the rides.

well its outdoors spacious and you can vibe with the rythmn of the people. you won't be bored at all you have the cool breeze blowing your way, your listening to real clean music that can uplift your spirits, you get to do alittle site seeing you and the family will most definately love that

THIS PLACE IS NICE IN THE EVENINGS TO NITE, ESPECIALLY FOR LOVERS AND OPEN MINDED PEOPLE. IF U LIKE THE EVENING JOGGING THEN THE ALL ROUND TRACK AT THE PARK IS JUST RITE, GATHER UP THE GIRLS OR BOYS AND GO JOGGING. OR BETTER YET TAKE HER OUT FOR A NICE EVENING OR TAKE HIM OUT TO ENJOY THE NITE
