A must-see historic site of the city of Sao Paulo. The oldest and practically only unaltered example of brazilian baroque architecture in this dynamic capital. You may also want to visit both Caixa Econimica Cultural Center for contemporary brazilian art exhibits, the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil also an art powerhouse or the Brazilian Stock Exchange building and get a free tour, all at walking distance. Then, relax and have a bite and a draft at Bar Sao Jorge right nin front of the mercantile exchange and watch people passby or across your table...!

This is the place where the city of São Paulo begun, with a jesuitic school to teach the indians the Portuguese language and to evangelize them in the Christian religion. It is well conserved and from it´s garden one can see the landscape of the city as well.
