The Lekki Conservation Center was built in 1990 and is located not very far from the Chevron complex on Lekki Peninsula . Its about 45 minutes drive from Lekki but the journey could be shorter if traffic is less dense. It consists of swamp and savannah habitats and is run by the Nigerian Conservation Foundation and supported by Chevron (I believe it is located on Chevron’s land). The area is quite secure.

very nice place, if u want to see the snakes u have to come early in d morning and u might be lucky enough to see d crocodile. watch the colourful birds make all d sounds and sometimes dance. the monkeys will always be seen at any time of d day, jumping, climbing and up to some mischief. be greeted by peacocks and tortoise littered in the entrance. do ask questions as thats d only way to get some information and they might be very reveiling. try to climb d tree house which is about a thousand feet off d ground, good spot to have a perk at what d whole place n d canopies of tree shades, its awesome also to climb. nice for relaxation as well, can have a pinic in there. very few animals as it is more of a vegetation conservation and not animals. in all very kool, away from d hustle and bustle of lagos.

Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) was established in 1980 and formally registered as a charitable trust (No. 1917) in 1982.
NCF has maintained a lead role in the promotion of nature conservation and environmental protection; and has remained an institutional symbol of environmental protection in Nigeria in its 27 years of existence. It has through his conservation projects maintained a nature conservation standard with unrivalled competence. Its ability to localize global conservation efforts with adequate attention to local peculiarities is evident in the needs of inhabitants that are being met on a daily basis in its multiple project sites across the country.
