The pyramids of Giza are the only surviving Ancient Wonder of the World and one of the most famous tourist attractions in the modern world. They are some of the oldest sacred sites in our index and certainly among of the most impressive.
The Pyramids of Giza are the most famous monuments of ancient Egypt. These massive stone structures were built around 4500 years ago on a rocky desert plateau close to the Nile. But the intriguing Egyptian pyramids were more than just tombs for kings. The mysteries surrounding their symbolism, design and purpose have inspired passionate debate. It is likely that many of these mysteries will never be solved...
The Pyramids of Egypt are a spectacular wonder and if it were not for the dry climate in the country it may not have survived the savage environment of the desert. Tomb raiders have already plundered most of the tombs that were supposed to be inside the pyramids for their exclusive treasures since these were the burial chambers of the kings that were placed here for attaining eternal life for them. There is a small passage that leads to the burial chambers in two of the larger pyramids and there is an extra entrance fee for this. Photography is not permitted inside the pyramids hence cameras have to be left outside. One of the seven ancient and original wonders of the world they still survive the ravages of time and are a beautiful sight to see from the outside as well as inside. The whole experience is very moving and enjoyable even though you may have to face the unbearable heat during the summer months.
Egyptian pyramids

The most famous pyramids are the Egyptian pyramids — huge structures built of brick or stone, some of which are among the largest man-made constructions. Most of them took about 27 years to build. In Ancient Egypt a pyramid was referred to as mer, which was also their word for the country of Egypt itself, showing how intrinsic the structures were to the culture.[1] The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest in Egypt and one of the largest in the world. it is the tallest building in the world.
The base is over 52,600 square meters in area.

It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the only one of the seven to survive into modern times. The Ancient Egyptians capped the peaks of their pyramids with gold and covered their faces with polished white limestone, though many of the stones used for the purpose have fallen or been removed for other structures. There are no more famous ancient sites within Egypt, or for that matter elsewhere in the world, than the Great Pyramids at Giza. They are, without question, the icon most associated with the Egypt. They have been both the main destination for tourists, and a source of imaginative thought to the world for over three .thousand years.

* The perimeter of the pyramid divided by two times the height would equal to pi (3.1416…) up to the fifteenth digit.
* The 3 pyramids of Giza is exactly aligned with the stars of the the Orions belt.
* The height of the pyramid (481 ft) is 1/1,000,000,000 of the distance of Earth from the sun.
* The pyramid is lined up exactly with the magnetic north pole.
* The pyramid lies 31 degrees north and 31 degrees west, longitude and latitude.

The Great Pyramid is basically a quick and easy description of our planet. The height shows our distance to the Sun, 481 feet/ 481,000,000,000 miles. The measurement around the base is that same as how many days it takes for our planet to travel completely around the Sun, 365.24 cubits / 365.24 days. The Great Pyramid is actually concaved on all four sides, only visible from above, and that arc is the exact arc of the planet. The angle of the Pyramid is 52 degrees, 52 weeks in a year. The Pyramid is placed at 31 degrees latitude, and 31 degrees longitude, both those lines travel through more land than any other latitude or longitude line, which makes the Great Pyramid at center land mass. The opening to the Pyramid faces exactly north, even though the compass wasn't even invented yet.

The most famous pyramids are the Egyptian pyramids — huge structures built of brick or stone, some of which are among the world's largest constructions. The age of the pyramids reached its zenith at Giza in 2575-2150 B.C.[3] As of 2008, some 138 pyramids have been discovered in Egypt.[4][5] The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest in Egypt and one of the largest in the world. Until Lincoln Cathedral was finished in AD 1311, it was the tallest building in the world. The base is over 52,600 square meters in area. While pyramids are associated with Egypt, the nation of Sudan has 220 extant pyramids, the most numerous in the world.[6]
The Great Pyramid of Giza was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is the only one to survive into modern times. The Ancient Egyptians covered the faces of pyramids with polished white limestone, containing great quantities of fossilized seashells[7]. Many of the facing stones have fallen or have been removed and used to build the mosques of Cairo.

The pyramids of Giza are perhaps the only true rival to the Great Sphinx when one thinks of ancient Egypt and its architecture. The Valley of Giza-- with its wonderful monuments-- is truly a marvel of architectural prowess. The three largest pyramids located in the valley consist of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Kafhre and the Pyramid of Menkaura. Each Pyramid is a tomb dedicated to a different king of Egypt.
