The Batu Caves are situated thirteen kilometers (seven miles) north of the capital city Kuala Lumpur. They are the sacred place for the Hindu's in Malaysia. They consist of three main caves and a number of smaller ones. The caves are made of limestone and 400 meters long and 100 meter high. They were discovered in 1892.
If you are a rock climbing enthusiast, you get to stretch your legs just right behind the temple!

Great way to be in the indian culture to its core! great morning exercise with a scenic experience up the stairs to the temple in the cave. please keep lose items ie purse, cameras, waterbottles, sunglasses, in your backpack as the are some mischievious monkeys along your climb.

A good place to start for anyone interested in the cultural exposure. Batu Caves represents the traditional Malaysian Indians whose ancestry dates back to World War 2. This place has a good mix of religious representation of the Hindu deities and the Indian culture.
