One of the 7 wonders of the world for 2010
Lake Coatepeque is a large crater lake in the east part of the Coatepeque Caldera. At 26 sq. km, it is one of the largest lakes in El Salvador, and has hot springs near its shores. In the lake is the island of Teopan, which was a Mayan site of some importance.

Lago de Coatepeque has been ranked in the list of the most beautiful lakes all over the world. Is a good place if you want to take the challenge of practice extreme sports as parasailing. You can enjoy the sightseeing if you like to contact with the nature or you can take a trip in a boat. The weather is fresh. You will love it.

It´s a good place if you want to ride a boat or a jet ski, you can take a boat tour in Torremolinos hotel and Rancho alegre or Las Palmeras also you can rent a jet ski.The lake was competing in the list of world wonders.

A must visit for every tourist that comes to El Salvador, excellent view, nice places to see, mostly on weekends, live music, plces to stay the night and affordable prices.
