My favorite thing about Mars Bar is sitting out back on a hot day after work and enjoying a couple of frosty beers with my friends. It's a great crowd, relaxing music, and when you get a table, you think nothing else in the world matters. It does get a little crowded though, so keep your eye out for people paying their tabs so you can swoop in and enjoy their seats.

My housemate used to work here, so I went a few times. This was a few years back, so times could have changed, but... I haven't heard of any changes. Anyway, it seemed like quite a popular after-work place for the tech-boom crowd. The food was not much to write home about but fine in a very nondescript way. The outdoor patio was nice to have. All in all, not a terrible place but I don't see any reason to go back. If you are staying in the neighborhood, there aren't a ton of other low-profile places in the neighborhood to get a drink on a weeknight, so it might be worth it, but I certainly would not go out of my way.

Busy happy hour spot - you'll find a crowd of techies from the neighborhood (Adobe HQ is across the street) the drinks are good simple bar food. It does have a outside area (quite rare in SF) which on a sunny day is perfect for catching a few rays, and sipping a few cocktails. They often have a DJ mixing it up and they've a pool table. I've not been there 'late' for a while but it used to be quite a good party.
