he Tana Delta is being threatened by the initiation of the Tana Integrated Sugar Project, a joint venture between Mumias Sugar Company and Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority (TARDA), aimed at production of sugar, electricity and ethanol. The project will involve conversion of 20,000 ha of land from the Tana Delta into sugar cane plantation, out-growers farms, infrastructure and other facilities, with enormous negative impact to the region’s fragile ecology, bio-diversity, and water balance and poses a serious threat to the livelihoods of local communities.Please do not hesitate to contact us for any additional information or assistance that you may require. Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority (TARDA) Request for Proposals for Management Consultancy 0tweetsretweet Tana Delta Irrigation Project Sustainable Management of the Tana Delta Irrigation (RICE) Project The Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority (TARDA) intends to identify a reputable Management Consultant to provide operation and management services on the Tana Delta Irrigation Project located in the Tana Delta at Garsen Division, Tana River District, Coast Province. The Project, which was damaged by Elnino Floods of 1997/98, has recently been rehabilitated to restore the irrigation infrastructure including the on-farm works of up to 1,763ha and the western flood protection dyke, under the Economic Stimulus Project of GoK. However, facilities of the Estate Compound which include buildings and rice mill works are yet to be rehabilitated and will be executed later. TARDA lacks the capacity for sustainable management of the Project and hence the need for the Management Consultant. The Management Consultant is therefore expected to provide sustainable management services for Crop Production, management and operation of the 1763ha scheme including marketing. TARDA is therefore requesting prospective Management Consultants to submit proposals to Management Consultant in the above project. Masinga dam resort is a fifty two bed lodge located next to masinga dam 32 kilomtres off the thika garisa road and about 152 kilometres from nairobi.while there on a clear sky,while seated on verranda of the dinning ,one could see mt. Kenya.The rooms are comfortable and eleven of them executive tents.Masinga dam nearby is a home to hippos.Boat rides can also be conducted in the dam.Those who love swimming the lodge has a swimming pool.It's also good for family outing .so go and enjoy yourselves.
