A nice place to see good soccer games and to visit one of the most important private stadium in Brazil. They have many options to buy tickets over the Internet.
Also this stadium is used to big shows like Scorpions, AC/DC, Coldplay, Linkin Park and many others.

First of all, this place is located in the Morumbi neighbourhood, in São Paulo city, not in Taboão da Serra, in São Paulo state.
It is the largest arena in São Paulo city. It is a privately held property, owned by São Paulo Futebol Clube (a soccer club). There are played the major games of the many championships in São Paulo State and even in Brazil.
Nowadays there is a fight between FIFA and CBF (Brazilian soccer federation) regarding the opening of the 2014´s World Cup. It´s very important for São Paulo to have this first game both in terms of prestige and of money.

Great to watch a soccer game. This stadium belongs to São Paulo Soccer team. It has been host of great music shows as Madonna, U2, Rollings Stones and many others. The official opening of Morumbi Stadium, named after the then club president happened to October 2, 1960, a match between Sao Paulo and Sporting Club of Portugal, with less than half the upper ring complete (only 30rings of the 72 were complete). Even with the stadium opened, the dream was not yet complete. This would be the longest period of sacrifices that you could imagine. More than 10 years were consumed for the work being completed. It was a time when "a brick is better than a player," to finish the stadium. After nearly twenty years of unimaginable obstacles overcome, has completed the dream stage. The opening track was in January 25, 1970. On this day the St. Paul tied at 1 to 1 with FC Porto. The Morumbi stadium was the first Brazilian to take beams rounded now official standard worldwide. The volume of concrete used to build the Estadio Cicero Pompeu de Toledo was 50 cubic meters. You could build 90 buildings with 10 floors each, with two apartments per floor of 150 meters. The consumption of bags of cement (400 thousand units) corresponds to 3200 trucks of six tons loaded. Or, if placed side by side, would cover the distance between Sao Paulo and Belo Horizonte. The amount of iron used came to 6 tons. If this entire amount was welded from end to end, the gauge 318, a tip would be in Sao Paulo and one in Lisbon, Portugal.
