Hi ,
if you want to work in Austria with your boyfriend why not better apply for a seasonal hotel job? they need plenty of staff for winter here. Accomodation and food are both free - same like Au Pair , but you get a salary and not pocket money. Try this - it's much better than Au Pair.

Unless your boyfriend is willing to be an Au pair as well, I would not recommend it. An Au pair job is a 24 hour a day job, with very little free time, and or money. Think twice before signing up to be an Au pair...you would see less of your boyfriend, because you both would be busy with your host family...and your boyfriend might get a family on the other side of Austria. Not only that; but the families that hire Au pairs, tend to take advantage of them. You may love children; but having responsibility of someone else's children, around the hour, is something completely different. I agree with Anna'a answer...that you should look into working at a seasonal hotel. You could work together with your boyfriend, and have more money and free time, than you would if you became an Au pair.
Look at the Rolling Pin web site...they are always up to date with job openings in the hotel industry:
Hope this helps!!
hi! au pairs usually need some childcare experience and you'd be living with the host family and doing some domestic duties for a very small wage. but if you're really interested, visist the austrian embassy's website . this is a good source of information for living and working in austria.
i know someone who did it via this agency:

and her experience was good...
