Geoffrey,
there's plenty. You can hike to some caves that the MauMau used as a hiding place when they were fighting the British. Mt. Kenya also offers some great Rainbow trout fishing.
You can take guided walks through the forest, and up to the moorlands and see the giant Lobelia and other endemic species. when you say "apart from canopies, animals and snow", are you saying you've seen those and you're not interested in them? or just that you know about them?
Mt. Kenya is one of only two places in Kenya where you can find the elusive Bongo antelope. It is also home to countless other species only found there.
By "canopies", I assume you mean the forest canopy. There are many fascinating species of trees. If you take a look at my photo gallery on my profile, there are one or two pictures of such trees.
Their is a place called Bible on the Ground...Its amazing!
Good question mandera Geoffrey ,we have a lot of attractions going on in this area of Mt.Kenya, just to mention a few as follows:
This is the home of the 2.5 million years old stone age caves, trees thought to be hundred of years old while the river reeds have stories to tell. We have nature trails, which lead to silver cutwater fall (about 82 different species have been recorded) Tour of the 600 acres of coffee, horse riding, riding the ship of the desert camel. Also fishing for black bass and tilapia land also boat riding.
To book this safari or any other, please do contact me,

Lovely weekend and i hope to read from you soon

Good that you take an interest in your own country and its travelling possibilities. Why do not go, discover and experience Mt. Kenya for yourself. We can give you elaborate descriptions, but the true beauty of the Mt. Kenya environs lies in what your own senses take in. Enjoy!
Thank you Mr mandera for the question.

First, i would inform that, you need to look at the animals and canopies as not just any animals and canopies. Mt. Kenya animals and plants' canopies are specific to the location, they are mountainous type and well suited to such high altitudes such that it would be straineous for them to survive comfortably elsewhere.

There are mau mau caves and trout fishing and water falls and cataracts on the mountain. endurance of the altitude and weather on the mountain is a feat in itself. trekking up the mountain is an achievement.
Hi,good query what about lake Rutundu which is in the northern slopes of mt Kenya at 10,200 feet, which is just above forest line. Trout fishing is done here, horse riding.what about lake Alice which is stocked with rainbow trouts.
camp siting is also good whereby you get to involve yourself in different activities.
hi gregory, on the foot hills before you start the assent there is the popular naro moru river lodge. you can trout fish , rock climb (but you need to be certified for that) the falls and the scenery is amazing. remember that there are 3 different way up the mountain , the sirimon track chogoria track and naro moru . all have a different outlook of your experience up mount kenya. the flora species are unique if you are into that sort of eco tourism. the mau mau caves the hitory is astonishing so buy a book on the mountains history and make your trip more enjoyable proving whats in the books. raj

mount kenya offers alot more. the history behind its glamour anr violent past are testomony in many a book. the mau mau fought the fight for indipendence in from the caves and dense forests. trout fishing in the many water ways and falls is a great experience. there are 3 interesting tracks up the moutain each offers it own splendour. the chogoria track sirimon track and the conventional naro moru track. the guides on hire at the base of each track offer the best experience to the new comers to the mountain .raj
the good hotels with golfcourses are ample for true relaxation and even birdwatching,
I believe its the overall experience that counts. To add to that there are wonderful friendly people who are always welcoming of their visitors.
The beauty of Mt kenya is a scenic view of sunrise from Horizon of the kenya coast, view of Mt kilimanjaro and a breath taking adventure in Mt Kenya park. Tarns and alpine meadows; exotic, equatorial, high-altitude vegetation; sunbirds, hyrax and soaring eagles make the walk around the peaks one of the most beautiful expeditions
There are Mau caves where you can do hiking.
there are water falls. not only fall, many river of kenya flows from Mt kenya.
one can enjoy the bamboo forest.health and moorland forest there are also rocks that have different shapes.
in the entrance of mt kenya one can enjoy a picnic site
