Answers

Northern Ireland is fortunate in not having extremes in weather conditions. I would recommend a visit to Mount Stewart House and Gardens on the narrow Ards Peninsula at the edge of Strangford Lough in County Down. The Lough is the largest sea inlet in the British Isles. Mount Stewart is a dazzling and idiosyncratic garden which basks in the Gulf Stream micro-climate of mild winters, low rainfall and humid coastal air that exists here. The gardens were created between 1919 and 1927 by Edith, Lady Londonderry. Many rare plants thrive in the gardens due to the mild climate. With Britain, it's generally a crap shoot. But Scotland's summer have tended to be quite pleasant these past couple of years.
