well almost any location near the cities here in Dom. Rep. have on some degree tourist influence.
we have lots of cities that are by the sea, depends on what you are looking for, and the time that you are going to stay.
and i may ask, what part of the country would you prefer?, in the south shore there is the caribean sea, in the north shore there is the atlantic ocean.
if you want to use our service to find you a privete house to stay, please send us details about your needs, dates, etc.
we will try to find what you need.

Hi. Well here on the North coast in the Samana peninsula you can find some real getaway retreats. Still close to Las Terrenas and Samana but quiet and secluded. It really depends what you truly want. Another beautiful and totallly charming original fishing village is Boca de Yuma. I found it by accident ( made the wrong choice at a junction) and there you can ask the fisherman to take you to a gorgeous beach where you will be probably the only person there! It is located between near Higuey La Romana and there is only ne road in and out. I love the place!
All depends on the area of the DR you want to go to... I'd have to say that the Samana Peninsula has some real gems... my personal favourites are in Las Terrenas. However, if you're on the south side by Santo Domingo, my favourite beach a short drive east is Playa Guayacanes... very few tourists go there.

Hi. I would have to honestly say that I need to know what your interests are. Are you planing on going to Santo Domingo, Santiago, or any of the other major cities while you are here? Well, you asked for a non-touristy place by the sea...my opinion would be Miches. It's a small fishing village. People there aren't all about a dollar as in most places here. There's a nice hotel on the hill if you want to stay in one, their price is reasonable. Also, the rent is very affordable if you decide to rent a house or an apartment. If you have any questions, you can e-mail me at . Hope this helps you.
P.S.--Where ever you decide to stay I know you will have a good time. Relax and enjoy your stay here.
Dear Sir,
my name is Loretta. We have a beautiful residence called "Bahia de los Dioses" (Gods' Bay) in Samana, North Coast of the Dominican Republic, with private beach. we rent apartment, bungalow or villa totally furnished and with kitchen . A river is crossing our property, sourrended by palm trees and luxury tropical vegetation. Our residence is made for people who like the freedom and are willing to enjoy the nature. We dispose of restaurant, small supermarket, etc.

It's hard to find a "real" dominican place by the sea, which is not somehow turistical. But still there are a lot of little places, which are not overcrowded yet by tons of tourist.
What about Montecristi on the way to the haitian border.
It's not really a wealthy place, but the "linea" (the line guiding the haitian-dominican border keeps it's typical creol flavor though.
Plantain fields, rural houses, cow stables and of corse the rice fields are ruling the panorama. Also common: Aloe vera, salt industries and others.
Lot's of fun is to be said to visit the dominican/haitian flee market in Dajabon, where haitians come to sell clothes and stock themselves with chicken, eggs and other things way to expensive in Haiti.
Mr. Les Sharpe, in this case I got the perfect place for you. This place happen to be the most under develope part of the country in the tourism area, you will see local people as part of the residents in the area, but hardly any comercial tourist. Check this link, and let me know.

Is a very beautiful city fill with lots of history, untouch beaches, mountains and rivers.

My recomendation is Barahona (Southwest coast of the Dominican Republic). This area of the country has so much to offer, specially to those seeking to spend time by the sea, in a region still unspoiled by development. For accommodation in Barahona the best keep secret is an ecological complex named Coral Sol. It consists of a 10 cottages, all overlooking the ocean with lots of privacy. Rooms are decorated in a simple and tasteful style. There are no phones, no TV, no A/C, and no mini-bars around. They have a wonderful tropical breeze and the sound of the ocean soothes you to sleep. This is the place to go when you're expecting to take a vacation from life. For reservation you can contact the owner Manual Diaz Franjul (809)350-5307.
Try Sabana de la Mar, El soco or Barahona
sosua got the best places to have a beach house. if you want it non touristic ... puerto plata city ... has a place near the beach of malecon ... beach is nice and is not so touristic area. you can chill out and beach is right across the beach. if you want it right on the beach sosua is your place also cabarete.
