Answers

Yes it safe to travel to Peru. Lima, as the main city, is loud, and crowded, and one should be carefull like in any other big city. It is really easy to get confused because of the news they show sometimes, but when it is well organized and you have the right information there is no need to worry.
Peruvian people are really nice and enjoy showing around, inviting really good food and drinks.
Depending on what do you want to see you can practicaly plan everything before your arrival, and get all kinds of services and prices.

Hope this helps.
Hello there, of course it's safe to travel to Peru. Any country has good and bad things, and you have to be careful everyhwere not just in Peru. Peruvian people are very friendly and easygoing, but I recommend you not to carry luxury things because they are easier to steale in public places. And also, try not to carry lot of money with you if you're visiting turist places, just carry a resonable money.
Take care.

Hi Lillie:
Things have changed a lot since the 1990s and Peru is now one of the most politically safe countries in the region. Like anywhere else in the world, however, you need to take certain precautions to make your trip accident-free. Avoid eating street-food, drink bottled water, stay close to your luggage, leave passport and valuables in the hotel safe, take legitimate taxis, do not walk alone at night in deserted area, and I can promise you a wonderful experience. Good luck.
Ye,it is safe to travel to Perú,but you must be aware and cautious,as anywhere else
In general it´s safe to Travel to Peru. Just don't drink tabwater, don´t carry around too much cash or jewelry and avoid certain areas of the city at night. Oh, and don't eat stuff they sell on the street. In any case if you're not sure whether it's recomendable or not to do a certain thing, just ask the people who work at the hotel you're staying at or ask me. My e-mail is . The people here are very friendly. Have a nice trip and I hope we can welcome you here soon.
HI, When traveling to Perú you must take the same precautions as when traveling anywhere else. Lima is safe as long as you take the standard precautions: take care of your personal belongings:purse, camera, wallet, luggage etc. Wear as little jewelry as posible. Always use reputable tourist agencies-recommended by hotels or travel agency. Same with Taking cabs, street cabs will be less expensive but also risky, ask the hotel to call a safe cab or if traveling in a larger group then it should be ok to take a street cab. Tourism in lima is more organized and guided now a days. You will not regret visiting Perú with all it has to offer.
Enjoy!
yes, lima is big city and like any other capital of the world, haz certain areas that are safer than others, but ussually the tourist areas are vary safe, enjoy your trip, if you need any further assistance pls cal me 993822167 in lima, regards
Very safe !!! I've been travelling and living in Peru for more than 12 years and I certainly have spent here more than 6 years in total and never had any problem or bad experience.
yep its safe , but also but u know mate u have to travel al least with 3 mates at least and try to buy te fare tickect by this site peru the electric tickects believe me is really cheapest 65 bucks to travel to lima to cuzco round way then when u stay un cuzco buy a package dont but nothing in lima its expensive and little bit dangerous lime its a capital its cool nice places cheaper in all sense the word , but cuzco and arequipa an piura the best for further places IN PERU BELIEVE ME
It is quite safe do not worry,as longest as you do not get into wrong places at the wrong time. You should study a little google maps, guide books and other info before to arrive in Lima Peru. Otherwise travel companies are other way to feel safe.
Perú is safe enough as big and different from ciyt to city. You must be careful that you are not in the wrong side walk, so you must study the tourist guides if you want to walk alone, If you go by group with a tourist operator, be quiet you will not have any problem.
As other guys said, since 90´s many things have changed in Peru, specially at Lima, there are many places to go and have a great time. Just try to contact a local, and have a nice trip at the country!!
yes of course, necessary cares as in any crowdy city, nothing more, if you come and need more information or help don't hesitate contact me 6544407, I can be your cheapest guide!!! good luck
Yes, Peru is safe 2 million of turist every year and no problem.
Come to Peru with dreams, no problem;
yes by now its pretty safe...however,u gotta be carefull anyway,i guess our streets are not the safest in the world, and if u start to walk with no directions u´ll probably get some troubles...contact a guide or just people u know over here and thats it...
as with any other destination, it is just matter of knowing the times and streets where one should not wander around
though broadly speaking, its quite safe
Hi there
As you come with a travel agency youll be alright,
Peru is much safer than most people think
but some recommendations should be taken into account ,things like do not take any taxi , do not go to the surroundings by yourself and do not show expensive things.
Im sure you will have a really nice trip ¡¡
thanks to the regime of former president Fujimori, the terrorist movement 'shining path' vanished and it is safe again to visit Peru, now you only need to find out as anywhere, which areas are not nice and that will do, no more guerrillas thanks god and real-politiks
Hell yeah!

lol, it is very safe, you just have to know where you are going. In Lima, for example, it's safe enough. If you wanna get really in touch with the peruvian culture, I would recommend you to spend as much time as possible in Centro Histórico, visiting ancient architecture and its museums... there are hundreds of them in LIma. You'll know the ancient culture and the colonial. Also, I recommend you to visit Museum of Italian Art, the only european arts museum in Peru, which is a very important cultural center in Centro histórico.

Btw, you will find the best restaurants, some in Centro Histórico, but most of them in Miraflores... In case of any doubts, do not hesitate to email me at:
yes it generally is, just check for the rainy season which brings problems to travelling around the mountains, and such, but social upheavel or guerrillas are something fortunately from the past
Peru is a beautiful country and I'm not just saying cuz I'm Peruvian =) ... but it's safe as long as you are a safe traveller you know getting all the information and contacting with the right people... good luck and enjoy PERU! Peru is awesome!!! :)
Of course it's safe, you'll enjoy lots of things in our different weathers and landscapes all in one place.
Hi!..About ur question I can tell you that Peru is totally safe.So If u are thinking about coming here, don't doubt it and get ready for trying new experiences as soon as you get here.
You just have to take in count that as in any "foreign country" you must be vigilant and try not to expose yourself to unsafe situations so do not wear any jewelry, purse, watch, fanny packs - men must keep their wallet in their front pocket - carry your passport at all times - those zipper pants are great to carry all the stuff safely.
Don't deprive yourself, take the trip, you'll love it!!GOOd luck and hope u come here soon!Hope to hear from you soon!Don't hesitate to ask for any information.See ya
Like any other big city in the world the only confuse place in Peru is Lima but also like other capitals in the world you will see the same things, nice restaurants, pubs, clubs, hotels and other atractions. In Lima be aware of your belongings that you carry out with you, do not wear any jewelry, purse, watch, fanny packs - men must keep their wallet in their front pocket - carry your passport at all times - those zipper pants are great to carry all the stuff safely if you can hire a tour guide in your hotel other ways ask to the hotel where are you going, set a price with the taxi before you jump into it always ask for the prices before to buy something, do not call attention wearing expensive stuff do not act like if you are rich, do not show off to much... you know what I mean?? If you can as well do not go alone by your self around travel with organized tours or with a group of people. best places to go also also also try as well You will have the time or your life believe me.... enjoy Peru!!
It is indeed, pretty safe. Peru has changed a lot since the 90's. Go ahead and come, you won't regret it.
noooo
