Arraial do Cabo!
Near 150km from Rio de Janeiro, one of bests places to scubadiving in Brazil!

You can find more gogleing it.
Hi there.
I have several contacts with friends that dive all the time and IF you are in Brazil they can obviously give you all the help you need to dive with them.
Let me know when you intent to come do and I’ll put you in touch with them.
The area would be the Brazilian Northeast, closer to a city called ARACAJU.
Google it and find out. There are plenty of great places to dive.
Cheers

Hello my friend, I would like to dive with you but I am not certified. Anyway we have very good people in Rio to help you...
I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT, BUT YOU CAN SEE ON LINE PLACES LIKE '' CABO FRIO '' AND ''ANGRA DOS REIS '' IN RIO DE JANEIRO, THOSE ARE VERY GOOD PLACES TO DIVE. TAKE CARE.
There is a Pady resort at Ilha Grande.
they are so good. if you want more information i can send to you their web site.

Hope it helps out!
Cheers!
Hey Lee! I'm sorry, I really don't know anyone who dives, but I'm sure you can find someone to join you on facebook or orkut (diving communities or something). About places to dive in Rio, I'm pretty sure that Cabo Frio and Arraial do Cabo are great places to do it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpfull!!
Julia
Hi,
I can come diving with you. Am in Rio from Thursday afternoon, can get in contact then. Know most of the coastline between Rio and Ubatuba and I'm PADI qualified too.
Best, Carla
Arraial do Cabo is definitely a must!
I only thought in one place: Ilha Grande.
Hey mate,

right, here's the opinion of someone who has over 1,000 dives and has virtually dived the whole brazilian coast from north to south.

In rio go to either Cabo Frio or Arraial do Cabo or Buzios. This area, the mentioned places are quite close together, is really good. Certainly not one of the best in brazil but definitely the best from there all the way to the south of the country. The highlight is definitely an island called Ilha da Ancora (anchor island), this is a must. Get out of your way to get there. The rest, specially if the places are on the shore are not so nice. You have to go off shore to get to worthwhile places. If you have been to other great dive sites in the world don't even consider going diving in paraty or ubatuba or ilha grande or ilha bela. Many inexperienced people are gonna tell you good things about these last places, don't pay attention, they don't really know what they're talking about, they might find it lovely cos they have no other experience to compare to, trust me on that! If you're more concerned about blowing bubbles then just flip the coin and go where is nearest to you.

cheers
Hi i don´t scubadive but i took the liberty of search for a site in Brazil that has all the information you might need including getting a partner. But the only set back is that the site is only available in portugues..
I advise you follow this sequence at this site ""
//Equipe Brazil Divers-> (and then click on any of the instructors to get contact details).
Cheers.
Hi i have a lot of friends who enjoy scubadiving and could help you...Two of my friends have practiced in Cabo Frio
If you want more details about this place, ask me!
I am in São Paulo, but would like to reinforce the recommendation on Ilha Grande. If ever in São Paulo state, Ubatuba on the northern state coast (not too far from Paraty) is also a good place to do it! Enjoy.
hi,lee!!in my personal opinion, around Rio,i'd say the closest area for your porpose is Ilha Grande, located at what are called as the Green Cost of the state(costa verde),the ride to the place is about 1 h 30m,to a place called Itacuruça...there's a pier where your adventure begins .....take care .....
I'd totally love to, just one thing...I'm not as close to "experienced" neither live in Rio. But if you get tired of that and search for richer, cleaner and warmer waters, here I am in Vitória ES 1 hour by plane north of Rio, since I'm not "experienced" made youcan show me some of your experiences, and i'll show some other things that I am experienced.( Just kiddin')
Look for a local school, there a number of good ones that can be easily found on the internet.
Very cool, did you find that person?
