In the jungle, light, bright colors, long sleeves and pants, don't forget the stuff against mosquitos. When on the altiplano the sun burns during the day, but it gets cold at night, so make sure you have a sweater. Always cover your head, be it for the sun, the cold or insects. Don't forget the big hole in the ozon layer above the altiplano. Sunblock is pretty much obligatory anywhere.
And sure, you can go into bars and restaurants, just take the usual precautions.
hello man,im ronald from PERU.i recomend you to visit arequipa cusco and ayacucho.
if you like cusco, places like machupicchu theres a similar place in Ayacucho, vilcashuaman.you could go to ayacucho first.then you need to prepare your tour ,you can ask for a tour. there.
the peruvian food is delicious ,you could taste them on "pardos chiken"(pollo a la brasa),ceviche, and typical food the best in the world.
if you want to buy souvenir you have to go to near place around goberment palace.its really near.you will find the less price and best quality ,there.
Peru? That's like asking what to wear in the US - and the answer is just that: From sweaty hot (Florida) to icy cold (Alaska) ....
Are you talking about evening attire? well, in Lima depends where are going, and also your mood, you might ended wearing some shorts and flip flops in a backpacking bar but if you want to go to a nice bar or restaurant, you will need a pair of trouser and a shirt, also in Cuzco, but it is more casual, you can go to a nice restaurant with a jumper and do not worry about the jungle, with a pair of running shoes or flip flops you will be fine everywhere.
Hi Leigh
Here in Peru at the end of September begins the spring, but we have different natural regions as the climate varies a bit, for example here in Cusco is warmer and sometimes tends to rain a little. or usually all over the country the temperature increases a litle bit. You can bring t-shirts, and warm clothe for nights. if you have not yet organized your trip can help giving you tourist information. Write us to:
Hi there
We suggest mix Cusco and jungle if you have time enough
Jungle 3 days - Tambopata National ReserveUS$199 sharing room
Day 1: Reception at the airport and transfer to PS’s office. From where we will continue in our bus to the dock located in the native community “Infierno” from where we will board our canoe and start a one and a half hour journey to the Explorer`s Inn lodge. During the trip we will have lunch on board (Box Lunch) and will also have the opportunity to see caimans, turtles, capybaras, etc. At arrival we will be received with a welcome drink. After resting a little while we will do a short night hike where we will be able to see some nocturnal animals of the rainforest. . Back at the lodge we will have dinner with our experienced guide and some of the RNs who will be available to answer any of our questions or brief us about the Amazon rainforest and the Tambopata National Reserve.

Day 2: To see the giant otters we will have to get up very early and walk with our guide approx. 5 ½ kmts. to Cocococha oxbow lake. On the way we will have the opportunity to observe plants, exotic insects, colorful butterflies, birds, monkeys and, with a bit of luck, perhaps even see some of the large mammals. After arriving to the lake we will hide in a strategic hiding place and will wait the otters to appear to be observed. While waiting we will take the chance to have a refreshment. Afterwards canoes will be available for us to go for a short ride around the lake watching the wildlife on the shoreline. Back in the lodge we will probably have a late lunch and also have the afternoon free for relaxing or doing independent activities for those who wish to do them. Before the sun sets we will do with our guide a short afternoon walk to the Sunset Point and watch the beautiful Amazon rainforest sunset. After the sun sets we will board the canoes once again to look for and watch caimans with torches.

Day 3: We will be woken up very early to have breakfast and board the canoe to return to Puerto Maldonado. On the way we will watch the unforgettable jungle dawn on the Tambopata River. Once in Puerto Maldonado we will be transferred to the airport to take our return flight.

I will advise to think 'layers' and multi purpose clothing: jeans are basic, all terrain footwear and a pair of flip flaps or crocs (to let the regular footwear and feet rest and dry) shorts that could be used to take a swim as well. As you will go from warm in the rainforest to cool on the mountains, have a sweater and a rainproof garment to use over everything if it is cool and rains for example. Hope this advice comes handy, I´ve learned through painstaking experience that versatility in clothing is best :-)
enjoy your trip, try not to look out of place wherever you go, blend in and ask locals for advice as of which areas could be dangerous by night, as in any country worlwide

hugs
Is ussualya bit wet so bring some light rain gear and a good allweather jacket, good hiking boots a must, but flow with the enviroment it is worth it, do not forget camera an lots of memory sticks
Hi! my name is Tino I am an acredited tourist guide. I can advise to you "dress like an onion" I mean in leyers becouse weather in the costline is different in the highlands and in the jungle in the same time. In Sep-Octover for exemple is overcasting season in the costline (not sunshine we called local winter hight humidity) in the andes montains is a very nice weather with sunshine and almost not rain (we called raining season) in the jungle is our rain forest so rain there you need a rainponcho just in case and a win-jacket to cut the cold winds from Argentina. Well Have fun in Peru, any other question let me know My e-mail is cheers!!
The best wear is light clothes. half-pant, sun hat and don forget sun glass . it is my suggestion for you.... and other friends too.... most of time better to use sun lotion too.
depend on your tour activity.... if only normal... or adventure... it might be different.
Hi: For Cusco, Machu Picchu and Titicaca Lake you will need clothes for winter vcebause by night is very cold, however during the day the sun can be strong, so be aware that you will need something easy to carry on duering the day. THis time is not for rain, ok?
In the joungle you better take long pants instead of shorts, beacuse of the mosquitos, but not for the hot wehather, as well as closed shoes.
Have a good time in Peru
Hi, I was in Cuzco last time and I didn t need to take lot of clothes. You can go to Cuzco just with a jacket, some Tshirts and some confortable shoes because you will walk alone everything is near. You will take a lot of tours to sacred valley and you will need confortable shoes. If you need another sweather or extra shoes or slaps you can buy them in the regional market. Is cheap believe me.

In jungle you need slaps, t shirts and short pants, so you should be aware of moskitos in some places. Don t forget a repelent.

In the evenings you can dress you following your mood.
Enjoy my country

Bring the same clothing you´d take on a holliday to Katmandú. Warm while in daylight and COLD in the evening & COLDER at night (freezing temp.) No problem with restaurants & bars but be carefull with the locals.
If you are coming to Lima the temperature will be in the range of 45 to 55 at night and 50 to 70 degrees in the day with some humidity. Dress warm.
The weather in cuzco tends to be crazy, in the shadows it is really cold but in the open light kinda warm, so you might as well take light close as coats,
