Answers

Hi - welcome to Egypt!

The church is open to visitors. The pulpit is used once, each year, in the prayer of Great Friday and on the 1st of June, each year, the church of St. Sergio commemorates the arrival of the Holy Family by having prayers inside the church of the cave which is one of the most important parts of the church, as it is the cave in which the Holy Family stayed.

So you would be able to pray and I'm sure most Christian tourists do so.

If I can help any more please let me know

Hi,

Of all the sites connected with the Holy Family's Egyptian sojourn the most important is Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church, also known as Abu Serga, in the Coptic Quarter of Old Cairo, just east of the Nile River. Abu Serga is one of the oldest Coptic churches in Egypt that open to visitors.

Dear all

Concerning the church of St. Sergius and Bacchus ( Abu Sega ) is the famous name of this church.

I did understand that your question is about to visit or to pray by the afternoon !
to pray and to visit the crypt.

You can do it any Saturday at 17:30 where the church is opened for a certain pray and this is the only time where the Crypt is open to go inside for the public.

Except this , all the Coptic zone is open to visit and pray from 08:30 till 16:00

If you need any more info. just let me know thank you

Enjoy your time
